a downswing is a down occuring due to variance only.
the max. downswing size depends on your ability (ROI).
check out husng.com for possible downswings...needa click a bit
to find out the greatest one.
i just know at a super decent ROI you still can experience a downswing
of bout 30BIs, only just by variance.
AND i know - most downswing are not only variance, but due to:
- over estimation of ability (ROI)
- bad or marginal play
soooo, i guess almost no one will have a downswing which is based exclusively on variance.
for me this means:
- try to accept variance (...i am still trying hard..and have my difficulties with it)
- learn more and faster out of different sources (game review, coaching, vids, strategy posts etc.)
- do only single tabling
- do table selection
- play your best game (do not play when u r drunk, tired etc.)
- play slower and very concentrated
last points will all make you a better player and the chance of holding up the swing down is increasing.
i am just 30BIs down ...and i am struggeling..smile..but i know there was a huge amount of bad luck..but still i try to do things mentioned above to survive it as fast as possible.
