You can't change the past so you can only deal with the future and your future actions, try to focus on that.
I was on a losing streak for over 2k games at about the same time. As crazy as it sounds for the longest time, I never admitted that I was doing something wrong. Looking back, I know it wasn't all bad luck.

I think there is a lot less luck in this game than people are prepared to admit.

100% agreed, there is a lot of hard work involved. I will be the first to admit that i have not played my best through this down swing, mainly due to a lack of confidence. However, i work on my game regularly and try to work on it pretty hard. Working on your game should obviously be considered a part of the job as well...

I'm still waiting for someone to explain to me what a downswing is exactly.

I mean, c'mon.. is it just an excuse for losing, or is it actually something else?

There you go. CONFESSION. You just weren't up to the job when you were playing.

Play bad > get emotional = downswing.

Very true. One thing I found was that I hated working on my game when I was struggling. When I finally got over that, I realized that by working on my game (particularly reviewing the session) the pain of the bad session would go away.

I would be angry that I lost. Then force myself to review, find a couple things I need to work on, find a couple of coolers and write all that down. When I do this, I found my confidence to be unaffected. Because I either find that I lost from coolers and played well, or I found things in my game that are lacking and I make a note of them. I am probably one of the few players on this forum that actually knows what a lot of their own weaknesses are. If you know your weaknesses, and know when you take a beat, your confidence remains through the rough times.

Idk if this is known or not, but if you have a chat ban you can temporarily enable your chat by having both players accept the make a deal option (assuming they allow this b/c chat is obv necessary in these situations).

Once you leave the make a deal you're back to chat ban land..

lol, wtf is this?

I said nothing about being emotional. Considering i'm in a 12k downswing, i think ive handled it pretty well tbh. I haven't really gone on tilt at all, and haven't let it affect my life at all. I think your criticism is unfounded and unecessary. I admitted that upon review of a fair few of my games, i was certainly missing some spots due to a lack of confidence as a result of running bad. I said nothing about getting emotional and do not believe i have played that badly (just not optimally in some spots). The reality is, is that i try to fix whatever it is i have considered that i have done wrong and try to improve my game even through tough times.

I don't like your down the nose response, and would much prefer that you accepted some of my HH's and reviewed them for me before making judgements like this on me and my game.

If you actually don't mind giving away some of your HHs, I'd love to see some to look at how a winning high-stakes player adapts to different opponents. I'd be willing to review them, too, though I doubt you have anything to gain from my thoughts.

You moved up to the $50s a week ago. Congratulations.

Your strat posting has always been bad and your understanding of variance (posting wahhh I just lost AQ to AT aipf in the regs thread) seems pitiful. I guess it could be the sort of thing where you're just not very good with language/posting, but I would caution you against puffing yourself up like this.
