This seems to be more of a problem for ring and cash players, as the VPPs are going to be handed out to only those who put $$$ in pots, as opposed to before where the rake was split amongst all the players on the table whether they play or fold or w/e. This does not affect HU and sngs. Maybe I'm missing something here...

EDIT: Also, this benefits looser cash players and is real bad for nitty cash players (good for me!)...this 'weighted' rather than 'dealt' method is actually fairer to the players (except nits of course)...again, I don't see this affecting husngs so far as I can see...

How? You do realize that all Stars is doing is catching up to w/e everybody else is doing right? Further, the money is not going anywhere, sure, Stars gets their share and less bonuses are given out, but to whom? the nitty cash game players? who cares. I hate them anyways. The fish that benefit will be healthier and that's good for poker, and the looser sharks won't benefit but they won't lose out either...

Question about PokerStars.be, PokerStars.dk, and PokerStars.ee players (Belgium, Denmark, Estonia): Are they going to be able to play against all the player pool from PokerStars.com and vice versa? And if so, will we (.com) have to pay extra tax to play these guys like PokerStars.fr for example?

Just trying to guage how much all this segregation is going to affect the bottom line: I mean, segregated are France, Italy, Spain, Poland (not enforced tho??), those 3 above, US is still out...who's next?

they are all seperate playerpools. you can play on pokerstars.fr as an outsider but you cant play on .com if you live in france.taxes are handled by the increased rake afaik.

If the French can only play vs the French, I'm pretty happy we have a better system in Belgium. One of the only downsides about our regulation is that we can't have cash bonuses anymore for our FPP.

So what's the point of doing this? Is the Belgium gov't getting a cut of the rake? Maybe those cash bonuses go to them? Just don't get why we can play you and you can play us yet we're on different domains...like, .fr is bs for French and non-French players (more rake), no one outside Italy can play on .it, and Spain, well, we'll have to wait and see (the present gov't is shaky and if they don't hold then Spainish players could return to the way things were)...

The segregation of France and Italy (BF didn't help neither) has started a horrible snowball effect and it's by far the biggest threat for online poker imo, medium-term at least.
Biggest threat besides the mersenneary ebook ofc.

And Belgian players are officially registred, tax collectors can check there poker income now imo. Plus we have some other stuff like a maximum hourly loss.
