NemoInDeniaL Supernova Elite Mid-Stakes HUSNG Challenge

I. Format

1. Playing only HUSNGS with a buy-in of $57.50 or below, NemoInDeniaL will attempt to achieve Supernova Elite status in 2011. With a rake of $2.50s, this works out to 72,728 games for the year, or ~200 games every day for 365 days.

2. In reality, he will play higher than $57.50 from time-to-time, but only the rake generated from these games will contribute to this "quest". Therefore, more accurately, NemoInDeniaL will attempt to generate 1,000,000VPPs playing only $57.50 or lower HUSNGs.

3. In addition to this, NemoInDeniaL must show a profit before rakeback in these games.

4. For the vast majority of the time, NemoInDeniaL will be playing in front of a webcam. There will be some days where he may be unable to do this (traveling, etc.). [Min # of days/games on webcam?]

5. Results will be tracked via [Sharkscope].

II. Proposed Rules

1. All games must be played between 01/01/11 12:00:00AM and 12/31/11 11:59:59PM.

2. NemoInDeniaL would like 4:1 odds and would like to make a minimum wager of $30,000 (he loses $30,000 if he is unable to accomplish this feat, or he wins $120,000 if he is able to accomplish this feat).

III. Escrow

1. Must be someone well trusted, like durr/taylor/galfond/jungleman/SSS. Will be discussed and agreed upon by all parties involved.

lol there is just no way anyone can 4 table husngs 70 hours a week for a year straight without going insane... Hours like that would make even the most hardened Chinese factory worker beg for mercy.

Would be extremely interesting if a bet like this actually happened though. I'm sure Nemo would give it a solid shot, but would eventually have to call it quits after his parents forcefully put him in an emergency mental hospital after a few months, when they find him in the basement, coked out of his mind trying to 4 table husngs for 70 hours a week.

looks good can change title to Supernova Elite Mid-Stakes HUSNG Challenge, also somewhere near escrow part could put some incentive that I would blog about it frequently on some of those guys websites ie cardrunners/pokerstatic/, makes it more likely those guys would accept


also would add hold on 1 second,

some kind of terms that if the US made it illegal to play on stars anymore that I should get the % of the wager from the betters of what Ive completed assuming Im on pace at that time. If im totally out of the running then they win obv


Some type of rule if I die somehow from anything besides suicide that the bet is a chop assuming I was on pace, same thing if some random car hits me and im physically unable to play, this does not include any health problems I might obtain from attempting this challenge


If i somehow go blind I will be able to hire multiple people to click buttons for me while they tell me the holecards and I decide every action

Will also add that if the legislation laws change and new sites to play on are available to me within the year if I am On pace at that time I can have the option to quit the bet and only forfeit 20% of my wager.

For those of you regs who don't follow the legal landscape, which i think is a high amount of you guys, the month of december 2010 is HUGEEE for online poker in the US. We need this legislation to pass in the lame duck session this month, or it will be put on the back burner for at least 2 years. So we need to hope things go well in the next few weeks. Ill keep you guys posted as I religiously follow the legislative thread. Word came out today that Reid may be trying to attach the bill to the Bush "must pass" tax cuts. This is getting exciting

Hi Guys,

Mid / High Stakes reg NemoInDenial / Madamadadonk, is proposing a Prop bet that he could make SNE next year playing exclusively $50 HUSNG's.

Nemo is seeking 4 to 1 ( his 30k to your 120k ) which is to be escrowed to a well respected memeber on the HSNL community.

Basic conditions so far:

*He will have a webcam operating at times that he is playing. there may be a couple of days of webcam unavailability due to travel or being away from home.

*Rake generated will only be counted from $50 HUSNG's.

*Nemo would have to show profit before Rakeback in $50 HUSNGs

* I reiterate that someone very well respected would be required for escrow as it is a year long bet.

Nemo is definitely keen to get this off the ground so if anyone interested has any points or conditions to add, please feel free to reply here and any reasonable requests or standard ones that have been forgotten in OP will be looked at.

Nemo is a long time contributer to the forums, is friends with many respected people in the community who know him IRL and will vouch for his legitimacy.

Imo 50$ husngs aren't midstakes. More like low stakes. Plus Sne playing midstakes sngs doesnt sound as sick as sne with lowstakes sngs so maybe change the title? Also I might have to book action on this cuz its just way too sick :P but gl

2. In reality, he will play higher than $57.50 from time-to-time, but only the rake generated from these games will contribute to this "quest". Therefore, more accurately, MadaMadaDonk will attempt to generate 1,000,000VPPs playing only $57.50 or lower HUSNGs.

3. In addition to this, MadaMadaDonk must show a profit before rakeback in these games.

4. For the vast majority of the time, MadaMadaDonk will be playing in front of a webcam. There will be some days where he may be unable to do this (traveling, etc.). MadaMadaDonk is allowed to play a maximum of 16 days not in front of a webcam.

3. A one-year challenge such as this presents some unique issues. What if legislation passes restricting "online gaming" in the United States. What if MadaMadaDonk dies? Well:

a) If he is "on pace" (simple pro rata math) at the time of legislation, he will receive the proportional prize. For example, exactly halfway through the year, MadaMadaDonk has 500,000VPPs. He is therefore on pace to achieve 1,000,000VPPs. However, the U.S. legislative body passes a measure making it extremely difficult for MadaMadaDonk to play on PokerStars. If MadaMadaDonk has put up $30,000, and is set to receive $120,000 upon winning, he will be eligible to stop the challenge at this point, with a claim to 1/2 of the $120,000 or $60,000. If he has racked up 750,000VPPs at this point, he is above pace, and would be eligible for 3/4 of the prize (750,000VPPs/1,000,000VPPs), or $90,000. If he is behind pace (499,999VPPs or fewer in this case), he will lose the bet. If legislation is introduced that "opens up the field" and allows for softer games on new sites, AND MadaMadaDonk is on pace to win the challenge, he has the option to forfeit the wager, while giving up only 20% of his bet. I'm sure such legislation would be welcome news for everyone anyway.

b) If he dies, or something happens to him that makes him physically unable to play (this excludes health problems associated with attempting the challenge), and MadaMadaDonk is on pace, the bet is a chop. If his death is ruled a suicide, however (yes, things could get pretty stressful going through with a prop-bet like this), MadaMadaDonk will forfeit the escrow. If he somehow goes blind during the course of the challenge, he has the option to hire multiple people to read him his hole cards and the board, and to click buttons for him (with MadaMadaDonk deciding every action). I imagine this would be fairly enjoyable to watch on the webcam.

III. Escrow

No friggin way this will work. Somewhere into month 3 you will start to wonder if money is worth your health. Then around month 5 you will realize you have no motivation to play and your volume will go down the tubes. Around month 6 some sort of breakdown will happen and no one will hear from you for a couple of weeks. Month 7 people will feel guilty for profiting from your untimely demise.
