im not bumhunter (they regs aren't good at 30-50lvl usually) but im just wonder why regs not sit regs in "reg structure" like in turbo
because they're dumb.
some of the regs have an edge on others but no reg will sit another - well at 50s or lower. there are a few that i will sit each time. actually there a couple of b/e regs that will sit others.
i think one of the things that makes reg speeds winning players less likely to sit other winning players is that the games go on much longer than at turbos - most regs are pretty nitty postflop in reg speed games (compared to turbos) since they're used to playing fish. i'm speaking from a Stars perspective btw; dunno about FTP.
the whole reason to deal with the longer structure in reg speeds is the big edge it gives versus fish. but when you're playing against another competent person, then the edge goes down enough that you might as well play turbos. i mean if your edge against a reg in a reg speed game is say 5% and your edge against a random in a turbo is 5%, then it's kinda ******ed to play a 30 minute reg speed game than a 10 minute turbo.
edit: one of my favorite regs to play has a 90% pfr and a 98% cbet. another guy has a 88% pfr and a 80%+ fold 3bet even though i 3bet him like 40% of the time. there are some really bad reg speed winning players.
edit 2: oh and also a decent amout of regs in normal speed games use a limping strategy (like 100/20) which makes the game go even longer. i'm looking at this one limping reg i used to play and our games average over 20 minutes each according to HEM.
