hi there - i always like to look at hands of pros as a beginner. may i ask why you did not ship it on the turn? as you are almost committed.

..and as i am not english native - what do you mean by "owned"?

You must be talking about something other than an HUSNG. I was referring to an instance where 2 regs inadvertently sit one another and agree to chop in lieu of actually playing the match....just push and ship. This would not be in scope.

Also, a partnered 4 man would be chopped if the partners both reach Rd 2, which would also not be in scope.

What other "chop" would one encounter in an HUSNG?

Wingpin - I think i know the problem. FTP recently added a "make a deal" feature. So both players can agree to chop up the money without playing. So there isn't a need to ship all in and flip it out.

the ftp deal feature works for any non-satellite tournament or SNG that either is 1-table or has gotten down to 1-table, include HUSNGs. (the are some exception like the daily double tournaments which would be screwed up by deals)

I wouldn't start taking lines/plays like this at lower levels. ABC solid poker is the name of the game at smaller stakes. But i'll explain why i played it like that.

I've played the villain before and i'm confident in my read that he'll at least c/r the turn with hands that beat me. I know he's a station and capable of hero calling. When the turn card falls, i think the std line for most people would be to bet and check behind a lot of rivers. But when i bet the turn, i know that if all/most draws miss, i can value shove light and be hero called by lower pairs. Basically, i play my hand like i would if i had a flush draw, except i wouldn't be shoving the river if i miss vs this guy (he thinks i would, which is why he called light) because i know he's a station.

Shoving the turn doesn't make any sense, as i wouldn't do this with any of my range. When i bet 220 on the turn, it also sets the pot up nicely for a shove given stack sizes.

I'm kinda drunk right now, but if you don't understand my reasons, i'll go over it with you over AIM/MSN if you want, when i have some time (just PM me)

"owned" means, villain thought he was 1 level ahead of me, expecting me to shove msised draws there etc, but he didn't know i was capable of value shoving kinda light.

the reason for my first post is a really sad one. i wanted to warn the other regulars about jdubtd100. we agreed to chop some 4 men and i told him the usual conditions (whoever wins ships the half of the prize to the other (and thats just standart)) but when he won without encountering me he refused to send the money. he said he had asked me about it. i tried to find it in the handhistorys but never did... i hadnt posted here about the issue if i could have solved it with him (like he could send me the handhistory where he asks about it and i could verify it with my own historys and i could tell him that i said "whoever wins ships the half" and that its the standart rule between chopping regs anyway etc bla bla), but since then he doesnt answer to me... he just ignores me since then and i ll not rail and spamm him all day.

i chopped with some known regs before like mjw, compton, lasvegasaddict, walchy... and never had a problem with it - with trusting other regs.
the money lost sux ofc, but what sux much more is the feeling of beeing betrayed, all the thoughts about how to get it back, if he ll ever come to reason, why he doesnt even answer me to discuss the matter, if i can chop again with new ppl...

so i hope he reads this and talks to me about it.

anyway nice to be here now, this forum and thread rox
everyone who plays these 4 mans like me beware imo..pretty scummy stuff i see this dude sitting 4 mans all the time...

wow man. Very well said. When i saw that hand i didnt know if u shoved for value or thought ur hand was better off as a bluff givin this villian.

Ur explanation is very thurough and well thought out and maybe im missing some value spots like this.
