There's dif't kinds of droolers tho - you have droolers playing all stakes, but in my experience the fish playing small stakes play very weak-tight/loose-passive, whereas the majority of the fish at 50+ are going to play more aggressive.. They're all still droolers ofc, but the more aggro ones will always give you a tougher time/ increase variance.

yeah i agree but id obv love to play a weak passive but i do very well against aggro monkeys for the most part, just pot control and let them shoot themselves

Obviously I am so very much not good at poker, and obviously I am not ready for 200s although I can't for the life of me figure out why the **** not, since I have a 10% ROI over almost 1700 $100s.

The past few weeks of poker have crushed my soul into a tiny little ball yet again, so I haven't even been keeping up on the forum recently.

Also, I need to track down my USB flash drive that has my spreadsheet on it that I use to manage and track stuff. I think I know where it is, but I keep forgetting to look.

As soon as the pit in my stomach caused by the utter disgust at having my bankroll mangled to pieces yet again subsides, and I find my flash drive, I'll start running them again.

Don't get too down Travis, you have the bug and you've managed to turn it into a good thing.

People that love to play as much as you do have such a high chance of success in these games. You know the right people to help you stay on top of the game and you've already had a ton of success all while limiting the bad runs you used to have way more frequently.

I'm obviously doing something very very very wrong though.

I've had an absolutely ridiculous streak of opponents always showing up at the top of their range, or always getting there after the chips get in...

but 50 buyins is ludicrous, and simply cannot be explained away by bad luck, even though 15 of those buyins were against one massive ****** who seriously got the chips in behind almost every single time, doing **** like 3bet-calling all in for full stacks in the second blind level with Q8o and catching up against my QQ.

On the other hand, I previously had a just as quick $10k upswing, so I dunno. That just seems like an absolutely ridiculous amount of variance to experience over such a short period of time.

I'm still fairly comfortably rolled for $100s though, so obviously I should stick with those for a while. I also obviously really need to avoid turbos until I can get some coaching from somebody who crushes FT turbos. I've been mixing $220s rather than $100s to keep tables going, and doing very poorly at them, just like every other time I've tried to mix in turbos.

$100 bounty to anybody who sees me sitting higher than $100s before my SS graph has rebounded to at least $27k overall profit.

Just chatting with Chiry on AIM, and realized something.

Last time I had a soul-crusher and had to go into confidence-building mode, I stepped all the way down to $5s and $10s.

This time, I'm stepping down to $100s. Even more importantly, I'm in desperate need of some confidence, yet I don't feel like I have to step down any further than that.

Thats good. Part of the reason I think for your bad showings at the 200's might be because of the amount of money is double you are usually playing for. I remember when I used to grind 220s every time i took a shot at 570s it would seem that I was running bad. Running bad and playing bad sometimes go hand in hand. For example you might be playing a little tighter than usual, not shipping it in as light and letting the money affect you. Then after a while the same thing happened to me at 1ks. When I could finally play 1ks fine.. well the same thing happened to me in 2ks. What I do find weird though is that I am undefeated at 5k's (4-0). I attribute that to the weakness of the players anytime I sit in a 5k and playing a lot more small ball than normal.

Well, whatever my failings at the $200s have been, I can say with a great amount of confidence that playing tighter than usual or playing scared money is probably *not* it.

I'm actually thinking that might be part of the problem, leading to monster swings both ways. Cause I don't play scared while I'm in the game, but seeing the after-effect certainly does have an effect on me. :/
