I think it's just a function of less fish, so more reg-on-reg action.

I found this to be true. The hardest jump for me so far was from 30's to 50's. 5 and 10's played the same. 20/30's were a slight bump in skill. 50's things changed drastically. 100's seem to play same as 50's. Don't know about 200's yet.

This is exactly what I've found, though I don't have that many games at the 100's to back it up.

I expect there to be a nice jump in skill at the $200's. The fish will be a little better I'm sure but really, I anticipate all the long-term winning regs sitting me when I first move up. Gonna have to earn respect the hard way. The fun way. I'm coming for you Hokie.

at ftp no regs will play you if you have a decent roi over a good sample from what iv saw obv PS has more regs and doesnt open a new table so you will end up playing more regs wich will affect your roi/make jumping up harder
also the fish at the 200's on ftp are worst nearly all the fish are shot takes/tilted $10 players or massive donators thats why 50's is harder imo

yeah i agree you get degens trying to hit and run and they just do the most ridic stuff in a bid to get da moniez

people do the same thing at $100s as well i've found

also you never getting rematched at these stakes like you do at $50s and below. people either empty out the last $ from their account or they double up and go

I would like some serious opinions on this situation...

I'm in a game with a player with some good stats over 500 or so games. I need to go but the match is not over. We are in the 25-50 blind level and I have 2,000 chips while he has 1,000. I ask him if he wants to cut a deal and just end the game (since i need to go) and he says yes. I then ask him if 75-25% works for him, but before he actually replies to this, i have raised AA from the button and he shoved. I snap call, he shows 3 6 of diamonds and i hold to win the match.
He then says we had a deal and that i need to transfer him the money. I do not think a deal was completed and the match ended b4 we were able to finalize it. He says he thought there was a deal and that's why he shoved 3 6....
But again, i dont think the deal was made and that if there was a deal, going all in is not the way i would have done it, i told him that i prefer that he sat out and let me take the blinds.
Thoughts?

I had a situation in the same general area recently, Fydor. The takeaway is to leave no ambiguity. Actually say "we have no deal until we both state we agree on a specific one" as you start the negotiation. In this situation I think you had no deal before the shove and you should continue to deal at 1k/2k stacks but you leave yourself WAY too open to angling by not making it clear that he has to say "accept" for a deal to be taken.

If he didn't reply to the 75-25 split before shoving then there is no deal.

All he did was say "I'd like to cut a deal" but never agreed on any terms or suggested anything. If you had said "how's 99-1" and he didn't respond on that hand and you won he'd probably be asking you for 1% back or trying to claim he agreed to 50%.

Situations like this seem to come up every few weeks. You're playing with gamblers, many players who are losing players lifetime. Even the winning players often have egos and other degenerate habits. These are not people to exercise less caution with on any sort of deal, especially one online, they are people to exercise more caution with. Any sort of deal made needs to be clear and needs to be in the chat for the poker site records. If he did not agree to the 75-25 at all then there is no deal. Tell him that, if he has a problem he can take it up with Stars support.

That's another problem I have about chops. It's just not very clear b/c half the time people try to pull some angle shooting bull****, the other half the time people are just too incompetent to read, comprehend and respond efficiently in an online chat to get a clear deal done.

He's just angling + was almost certainly just stealing your raise.

haha no doubt if you folded he would've then demanded a more even split given his increase in chip count.

noob Q: whats angling?

I might ship him the money if he's uncreative/nitty and there's no way I would think that he would shove 63s over my minraise in a game ever (or <1% chance or something, this is defenitly true for at least some of the players).

And angling is doing a douchy/shady move to try and win more money in poker. In this case he could've said that he didn't accept the deal if he had won the hand.
