My first post on this forum

Winamax - 10/20 NL (2 max) - Holdem - 2 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BB: 231
Hero (SB): 769

Hero posts SB 10, BB posts BB 20

Pre Flop: (pot: 30) Hero has 6 J

Hero calls 10, BB checks

Flop: (40, 2 players) 4 A T
BB bets 20

Villain is fish, only 20 hands. He only ISO 1 in 5 times, and don't donk flop. I think about his range here, he can have Tx easy, maybe 4x. If i shove did we get enough fold equity from these hands?
In same time I don't like calling this short. What is best play here?

This is 11.55 BB effective stack size. After posting the blinds, it's 10.55 BB's effective, so it's an equivalent of 21.1 BBs minraised pot - in terms of SPR. So, yes, you are short, but there is still quite a room for making plays.

I'd call flop all day, every day, for multiple reasons:

- you have a position
- you don't want to face a raise
- you can play future streets quite comfortably
- you will get a lot of info ott after you call
- you can still be up versus MP/TP

But maybe I am a nit. Let's see what others think.

Also, if you think he is a recreational player, he can have some Ax in his range and play it straight forward.

What makes you think, that he is a recreational? Have you seen any showdowns? Have you seen any weird lines?

How was he playing preflop? Both SB and BB. What about his post flop stats?

Yes, it is only 20 hands, but you can see some patterns even on such a small sample.

In a spot like this do whatever you like.
Shallow on Axx flops when they donk they can have anything, its very wide range, so you can easily raise vs weak range and when they have Tx, which imo is best they can have here, you will be alright getting it in, and raising him off air hands is good too.
Same goes for flatting, very easy to play when you flat vs such a weak range.
So Id say:
fold <<<<<<<<<<<<<<< shove <<< raise or call

The problem with the shove is that is usually very drawy heavy in these spots. So oppos are going to call with mid, bottom pair. If you shove here you should shove also with top pair sometimes (against regs).

Thanks to all

Hero raises to 749 and is all-in, BB calls 191 and is all-in

Turn: (462, 2 players) 3

River: (462, 2 players) 6

BB shows A 2 (One Pair, Aces)
(Pre 58%, Flop 62%, Turn 80%)
Hero shows 6 J (One Pair, Sixes)
(Pre 42%, Flop 38%, Turn 20%)
BB wins 462
Hero wins 538

So after all now I have clue how to play in spot like these.

I don't expect regs to have a donking range.

Yeah, solvers might advise to have some, but I think it's just too much work to incorporate that right into your game and you won't gain much EV by doing so.

I would never shove here. I agree with none that both nai raise and call look completely fine. I definitely prefer nai raise and usually continuing to barrel because I think we get more midpair strength hands to fold and we're gonna gii vs Ax a lot of the time anyway.
