Any tips on how to better play this hand for value? Or just better in general?

Effective stacks 25bb, readless

*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to hero [Ah As]
UTG: folds
MP: folds
CO (Hero): calls 20
BTN: folds
SB: folds
BB (Villain): checks
*** FLOP *** [9h Js Jc]
Villain: checks
Hero: bets 20
Villain: calls 20
*** TURN *** [9h Js Jc] [2d]
Villain: checks
Hero: bets 40
Villain: calls 40
*** RIVER *** [9h Js Jc 2d] [4c]
Villain: bets 456 and is all-in
Hero: calls 404 and is all-in
Uncalled bet (52) returned to Villain
*** SHOW DOWN ***

Any thoughts?

Don't really see a reason to limp cutoff here, but I think your line looks okay post. You could probably go a bit bigger on the turn if you wanted.

Rationale for limping was to encourage more preflop action. Flawed?

A larger turn bet would be to extract more value, correct? (As opposed to inducing a fold?)

Result: Villain rivers boat with pocket 4s.

You're not really that happy if there's a bunch of multiway action with this hand, and building a bigger pot by minraising is good.

What hands are you hoping to fold out on the turn??
