Hi.

I'm playing this guy vs whom i don't have previous history. It's now the 9th hand in the tournament so no many reads, has 3 betted me so far in the 2nd or 3rd hand of the match. So far he's been raising all of his buttons.

No Limit Holdem Tournament
2 Players
Hand Conversion Powered by weaktight.com
$10.00+$0.50

Stacks:
SB (1,820)
Hero (1,180)

Blinds: 10/20

Pre-Flop: (30, 2 players) Hero is BB 9 A
SB raises to 40, Hero raises to 120, SB calls 80

Flop: A 10 3 (240, 2 players)
Hero bets 180, SB calls 180

Turn: 4 (600, 2 players)

Now. How much should i bet here. Half pot ? . Is overshoving here bad? I ask because by the turn i have around 800 chips and the pot is already 600.
If i bet half pot, lets say 300 i'm with only 500 chips left and by the time the river comes the pot would be 1200 .

Any other advice?

Thanks

Not sure what would be good here. I am thinking 260-280 and shove river?

it's rare for me to 3bet A9o, i think it's a little light without more reads. You chose to do that for value i assume.

So now we are valuebetting.

on the turn. if he is agressive, you can c/r it all, so his range is relatively weak for a lot of chips.

if you can't trust count on him betting a large % of the time, i like shoving here.

overshove is NP

Preflop: I understand the 3-bet here if he raises every button 2x so far. I'm pretty loose though and might 3-bet in a lot of situations with that hand. But I generally attack constant 2x'ers.

Flop: After a 3bet I like the cbet here because the villain expects it generally so it's great value with a hand like yours. Plus if he folds thats fine too since the board is slightly drawy, 2 to a straight and 2 to a flush (slight chance) and a 240-chip pot is not bad for top pair at the lowest blinds.

Turn: I'd bet half the pot on turn and depending on my reads go all in. All in if he is likely to fold a draw. I really prefer him folding the turn here since the pot is really big already.

River: depends on cards. I guess I try not to lose my stack here and get worried about better hands. I check/call generally. Check/call gets value out of a river bluff from villain and if he has a better hand than yours but one that's still weak like low two pair, he might not bet (but maybe not at this level) and would still call.

Post-river: make sure to criticize his intelligence and poker skills depending on outcome.

tl;dr: bet half pot turn or more. c/c river.

3 betting is incredibly standard. The people advising against it are giving up on a lot of ev+.

I'd say bet 300ish and push river. At this level players have trouble giving up mid pair especially for half pot bets and would be too committed by the river to fold.
