hi,
is this played correctly? How would you play it?

PokerStars - $1.44+$0.06|10/20 NL (2 max) - Holdem - 2 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

SB: 25 BB (VPIP: 100.00, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 7)
Hero (BB): 25 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, Hero posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has J J

SB calls 0.5 BB, Hero raises to 3 BB, SB calls 2 BB

Flop: (6 BB, 2 players) 9 7 8
Hero bets 22 BB and is all-in, SB calls 22 BB and is all-in

Raise Pre at least to 3,25BB

Cbet Flop 3,5xBB/Broke.

Shoving The Flop is plus EV but When you Bet small you give him The Option to make a play on The Flop (this is what you want).

I think it's fine to go big here but I would only consider overbetting against the worst donks. A lot of turns would be annoying to play out of position but that doesn't necessarily mean we should try to avoid it by choosing a non-optimal play.

I Wouldnt Bet bigger than 4bb. My reasoning for this is that he shouldnt think that I want to protect

When I Bet 5bb a Strong Play will put me on Toppair or better.

On The 1,5s however u can Bet 6bb Here and get away because People Chase draws a Lot.
However its more likely that he Raises his 9x or his 67 When you make it 3,5bb.

I also dont want to Claim that Betting small is superior to Betting close to Pot.
Betting close to Pot has more Value When he calls ofc.

Against a donk shoving Seems Fine. But without The read "donk" I Would either Bet close to Pot or 3,5bb

ok, so i dont jam because its not optimal, instead i make ~4bb c-bet (hopin to gii), however he flats and the turn comes:

Any Club, J,6 or 5: I bet <50% , call reraise 2x but not more, because a raise is pretty damn strong from unknown villain on this board at 1,50$ and i have roughly 6 clean outs for backdoor Flush which is only 13%

All other cards: I b/r 75%

How about this?

I Personally am only afraid of A Card When he makes actions.

When he Checks back any Card it Means you are Ahead.
When he bets I Would say you are behind unless its a Safe Turn!

But I am no pro ..

Never 3x at hypers.

As you can see, 3xing is an exploitable play, and 3xing only with your strong cards isn't workable because it gives away too much information.

The standard play is betting pot. But Overbet shoving here is an excellent play since there are a bunch of draws you could be representing.
