3rd hand with the villain.

I'm cbetting on flop because of no SD value, so want to take the pot down. I decided to continue on turn because potentially scare card hits. However, villain does a huge raise.

Should I have just given up on the flop readless?

First you have to think about your cbetsizing, is there a good reason why you are making it 40? Why not 30. Second, you can check back flop and bet turn, I'm not a big fan of cbetting here.
And third, this turn is awful to barrel on.
