srsly, taking regular breaks is absolutely the best thing. sitting outside is one of the best ways of dealing with stress, just take a few minutes outside. the next session, wait longer for your break i.e. 10 minutes every hour 1 day than 10 minutes every 1 1/2 hrs the next. this will increase your mental stamina. exercise your brain by doing crap like sudoku while waiting in line somewhere such as getting your oil changed.
Sleep well and routinely.
Eat well and take supplements good for the brain. Blueberries, walnuts and fish oil are great omega three's for the brain. A pharmaceutical quality vitamin and mineral supplement is a must.
Experience and learn new things. Doing Sudoko, drinking coffee with the hand you usually don't and taking up a new sport all contribute to continued brain development. You must challenge the brain in new ways in order to keep it fine-tuned.
Nurture a social life. Yes, even the hermit needs a thought provoking conversation to invigorate the brain (if you can find someone smart enough to have a conversation with--just mess with everybody else by constantly levelling them)
Exercise (don't over do it). Being physically fit provides oxygen and nutrients to the brain. It also keeps toxins from affecting the brain as much. I think I win about 80% of my matches after mowing the lawn, srsly.
keep these over the counter pills on hand for tilts
