I can only say that life is a very interesting thing where stuff like this is going on. Sounds like a thriller because usually for most people I think it ends up at the first paragraph but its a big lesson.

Anyway you have great results at 320 sngs so I d say youll be fine after some time but you really need to take this lesson that you have some Insane trust level for normal people and should probably ask your real friends for guidance in tough spots involving you helping anyone in any way .

WOW what a story! However i can relate to this altho not on th same scale, as i was once robbed of 2k by a player who i began talking 2 on ftp, he used th same techniques as robert infact. Started by claiming to be a big winner in cash games i instantly believed him as 4 some reason i recognised th name, this mistake proved 2 th most costly as he reeled me into a world of lies, i was new to poker and had just took down 11k in a tourney, he told me he would teach me how 2 play cash, and suggested i sit and he would help me play, so as an absolute rookie i sit down in 100/200 with my roll v none other than patrik antonius playing under luigi! obviously i had no clue who he was. i hit and run him for around 4k after sucking out bigtime. Later that evening chris mentions he cant deposit for a few days as ther is some trouble at his bank etc. He asks for $1000 and promises he will pay it back as soon as he can also promising 2 help me run my roll up massively. As a newbie im excited by that prospect and decide to lend him as he had just helped me win like $4k. A few days pass and he tells me he still cant pay me back and had lost th $1k and was really pissed he couldnt play, he then asks again 4 another $1k i say no this time, and told him i wanted my money back. He also freaks out saying i jus won u $4k and its only $1k out of ur roll, he claims he has like $200k but jus cant get 2 it atm, he then offers to give me $3k back if i send him another $1k that night becos hes sorry about th wait. So i send hoping 2 eventually make profit from th experience. obv th days go by and i realise i aint gettin it back. I'm then added by a bunch of his friends who also try th same trick which makes me ****** sick! How can people treat another human like this and go on living with no guilt or remorse. I took it as a life lesson i relate to that glimmer of hope tho which tells u be nice and dont argue and th money will come back when every1 else around u tells u ur bein robbed. If only i had th chance to meet th guy who did it 2 me! i doubt if b sat here telling u this if i did. Hope u bounce back Prim and u nail this ****** for all hes got!

I'm no big timer (yet (hopefull))... but I can relate. I've had the same happen to me and lost 50% of my PS roll which was <200 at the time. While reading I knew exactly how you felt.. the promises and little fractions you get back (I also got money over euro sites lol) etc... in the end I had to redeposit and start fresh. So it was a set back!! I deleted the person out of my msn, skype etc.. and made it a point to not lend money over PS. Although I do still lend, I kinda try to build credit history helping me to judge the character.

What I get from your story and the recent prior post of $2000 loss. Its simple why we have a tendency to give in. Because if you don't pay and piss the person off you have -EV and so you try to be as polite and friendly to the person to maximize your EV. We're gamblers and if you have to pay 5% to hold on to the chance of getting 20times that back we take it!

I wouldn't worry about legal issues until you're done writing the book and are pitching it/selling it.

Names in the story can easily be changed and you can change locations/specific events, but the point is the publisher's legal team is going to handle that, not you.
