thanks a ton Radeh, I already sent a follow up email to my Financial Advisors on my exact options and how to go about chasing him in court when I started this thread, so i'll expect a response by tomorrow or the next day, and see where I can go from there. I appreciate takin time to read/consider all of this, as im still kinda lost about all of it i'm really happy for any help I receive

(im back to my normal poker / daily routines, and kinda putting it all behind me, but the sum is HUGE, and I just kind of resigned myself to that fate, so if I have other options, im more than happy to follow up on them... because it's worth it)

Man you need a condensed summary version at the top. I read most of it and can only conclude that if I were you, once I heard back from Stars that he drained 10k from my account, I would not let him leave the hotel room until he had pettinho transfer it back. There would be violence otherwise.

I graduated from law school a few months back but never took international law and haven't taken the bar exam yet. It's a clear case of conversion/theft but the problem is all of the international law involved and jurisdictional issues. With all due respect to your financial advisers, you need to speak with an attorney who specializes in international law and has a lot of experience in it. No one else is going to be able to give you a real answer imo since this is a complex issue. The only problem whenever you involve an attorney is the money/time involved to get a resolution to the problem, and there's never any guarantee. That said, I'd at least get an initial consultation to see what they say. GL man.

Such an unbelievable story. I feel so sorry for you and hope you get your money back, but you really should have called the police once you heard from the other guys on MSN. Trying to get the money back from his father seems to be the best thing to do.

ty vm, and yea my financial advisors are NOT the ones to solve the problems, but they are like a sick network of knowing EVERYBODY, so im hoping once they understand the situation to the fullest they can set me up with the right person to help me, and usually for much better rates than you would normally get, and yea, I was SOOOO close to going to the police in sweden, but it's all of the international politics that kinda gets me messed up, I just feel like it's such a difficult situation

man, i had to stop reading, cuz every time you sent more money it just made my head hurt. i can't imagine how sick you must feel.

one thing you can do is focus on your game. put in more time than you otherwise would have at both playing and studying. take your game to the next level and then you can look back at this event as the catalyst for greatness.

all the best.

****ing christ what an ordeal. Wow, just wow. That sucks so hard. That guy doesn't give a **** about anything but getting his gambling fix.

I only know you as words over the net but I hope you take this to heart and not as a flame. You are waaaay too lenient and passive. This should never have happened in the first place and there were a million spots a long the way where you could have stopped it and even received some money back. Several times he gave you money to play with and you paid HIM back? Come on, man. Even in your aim conversations at the end, you were willing to accommodate him saying you'd talk to stars to keep him from being banned. Dude! **** that scammer. He will never repay you and will do everything he can to get more money from you. You've said you're done with giving him money but you said that several times before and always gave in. You really have to cut ties with this piece of ****.

I don't want rip into you too bad. You come across as very intelligent and helpful and from one person to another, I want you to do well in life. That sounds so gay, I know, haha, but really, my post is just trying to help you see through some spots where you seem to be confused, and hopefully prevent things like this happening to you again. Same thing you'd do for me if you were coaching me in poker!

Anyway, to delve even further into homosexuality, haha, if you ever want to shoot the **** about this or whatever feel free to pm or IM me. AIM: ridetherhythms

Take it easy, yo.

Man that's a sick story. I agree with Trankuility though, you let him walk over you and there were tons of times you could have just stopped and got some money back(although I'm sure you already realise this). You done good to keep your cool the whole time though, I would have wanted to kill him.

P.S. I hope he does jump in front of a train

I can't believe you kept giving him more money, and I can't believe you didn't just pocket the money that HE was giving you at all the damn casinos you went to.

Either way, sue his ass and call the police. They can still arrest him.

I can pretty much tell you what Bill and Dorothy are going to tell you, even with really solid proof and an air tight case with a case just in the states it would take some serious effort, money and time and even when you win actually getting the judgment paid is going to be next to impossible. Add in all the jurisdiction issues I honestly dont see it happening at least not till possibly years later. Basically if he even has money when the judgment is levied he is going to hide it. Not saying you shouldnt pursue it but keep your expectations low.

It sucks too because you really are one of the most trusting people I know and I dont consider that a bad thing, just remember poker players dont count as people

Consider writing a book? Might interest people being based on a true story about a young kid who is moving out with his girlfriend looking forward to some of the best times in his life then getting conned out of a absurd amount of money by a gambling addict while you travel with him across a foreign country and casino to casino gambing it up, while he ****s with you mentally/emotionally and none the less threatning your life. I mean who knows you might have a huge seller and make buzuku bucks turning the worst situation in your life into one of the most rewarding.

Btw if you do remember me, buyin to Main Event would be nice + a new car

Actually this would be a sick ass poker movie based on a true story.

haha, yeah, actually would make a good read. Of course at the end there will have to be a twist. Something no one would expect. Like your girlfriend taking it upon herself to con him into visiting her at some casino to work things out in your place. She drugs him, get's his ID and bank info, gets your money back, then slits his throat and comes back home with no one the wiser.
