How Do You Deal With Constant Donk Betting? How Do You Deal With Constant Donk Betting?

As stated in another thread, I am relatively new to HUSNG's and am currently playing at micro $5 stakes.

I've had problems with a few players who constantly donk bet virtually every street. I've tried check raise bluffing, only to be flatted and donked into again; I've tried floating but then having to give up with little or no equity; when I've tried to extract value they give up or only lose small pot to me.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Just few examples against an annoying donk bettor.

Low blinds, 1500 chips, you open t60 with K9

flop Q38
pot t120

If he donk bets t50/60/80 I generally raise 2,5x/3x because I have some equity but not enough for calling down (overcard + overcard vs 2nd pair + backdoor flushdraw + backdoor straight draw) Obv I have a lot of fold equity (I represent big queens other than monster)

If I open AJ
on a flop 682

I generally call down a small donkbet for just one street.

If I open J8

flop T82

donk bet - call down

generally, I call with a wider range.

Or you can call 1st db, raise turn

Raise flop, barrel turn & so on.

A lot of things to do. There's no "general rule" I gues

In your example this guy is putting a TON of money in the pot. So take it as a value line.

If someone donks strong, recognize what this does to their flop checking range.

If they donk weak then you should beable to identify it after awhile and then punish their weak OOP range that they're putting alot of $ in w/

In terms of sizing I keep running into the kind of opponent that either min bet donks or donks like 30%-50% pot on all streets. I guess I need more experience in determining donk bettors' ranges because I tend to get caught out when bluff raising or run into made hands when calling down.

Against someone like that who only has one gear so to speak, just play ABC poker and u will win. He gains a good edge on you when you begin to get frustrated and start 3 bet bluffing or calling down with an underpair to the whole board etc..

When you say you try to extract value with strong hands, do you mean that you 3 bet him? If you're saying that he folds to your extraction, then I would just let him put the bets in and flat. Then u know he will triple barrel donk bet so you would get more value than 3 betting him big and he folds.. either flat his donks OR perhaps min 3 bet him on every street he donks. Then it will be about the size u wud have c bet had he checked to you!

The key is not to get tangled up in the messy pots when you KNOW you can get a lot of chips with your strong hands.

Stop being results-oriented.

do as punch said;
figure out what their dbets mean, based on showdown and bet sizing + board texture. then exploit and adjust.

Thanks all for your input.

At present I can't seem to get away from being very results-oriented,but am working on it to focus on correct play rather than short term gains or losses.

As regards ez game... hopefully one day.
