How do I push the limp button?

I ****ing love raising, but I kinda know that I should really get more comfortable with limping.
I'm totally okay with limping versus frequent three bettors, but against someone with a low 3b percentage I just can't bring myself to give up my fold equity for that extra big blind.
I really can't get a feel for the phrase "x hand plays well in a limped pot". Can anyone give an explanation of their understanding of this phrase?
Also, how does a hand end up being more profitable being limped than being minraise folded?

Limp seems a good idea VS calling stations that never fold pre and play to loose postflop, keep the pot small with your worst hands and do it big with ur best. Anyway, any player is different and ull have to find the line wich has more EV, e.g. there are son players that never fold to a Cbet but fold a lot to an stab, then is a good idea to limp. There are other players that Raise Over a Limper a lot but never 3bet....then limp is not a good idea.
