HokieGreg Hyper Turbo Class Video Pack

This pack contains over 6 hours of hyper turbo strategy, from a top coach and player in hyper turbo husngs. Topics such as population tendencies are covered in great depth, or how to play against an unknown opponent early on in the match with no information. The topics branch into how to make bayesian type decisions as information starts to become available, and eventually into adjusting and exploiting your opponent's specific characteristics.

There is a great deal of focus on questions from $10-100 level hyper players in these videos as well.

To make it easier to study outside of the video, we've included spreadsheets and chart images with each purchase.

About Greg

Greg has been playing poker professionally since 2007. His screen name on PokerStars was HokieGregHU and his screen name on Revolution is HokieGreg. Prior to Black Friday, Greg was playing turbos up to the highest levels Stars offered. After Black Friday, Greg switched to hyper turbos. Below are his hyper turbo results that covers the last ~9 months.

This package contains the following Videos from HokieGreg Classes

Day 1 - Preflop Hyper Play
Day 2 - Postflop Hyper Play
Day 3 - Beating Hyper HU SNGs
4 extra Bonus HokieGreg VIP Staking Program Q&A Session Videos

You will also gain access to the following Documents from HokieGreg Classes

Bayesian Estimator
Class Calculations
Population Tendencies
Pre-Flop Charts

More Details and clips from the 3 main Videos

Day 1 - Preflop Hyper Play

- "Readless" Play: Hokiegreg defines population tendencies and reviews their practical use in-game. Greg also reviews some pre-made sample population tendencies for unknown players. These population tendencies are the basis for the default ranges throughout the rest of the class.
- Bayesian Estimators: Greg reviews how to combine small samples of hands versus individual opponents with population tendencies. 'Bayesian Estimator' is kind of an intimidating term, but it is relatively common sense actually. Greg makes this complex yet important topic a little easier to understand by reviewing a few examples.
- Maximally Exploitative Play: A few common HUSNG myths are debunked before moving forward.
- Small Blind Default Ranges and General Adjustments: With significant reference to population tendencies, Greg looks at several charts at a variety of stack depths. He specifically focuses on how to play better than NASH vs the population 3BB deep to mr/calling ranges at 25BB. Additional discussion includes: When and why we should limp weak hands vs passive opponents, how to adjust versus aggressive 3-bettors and how to adjust versus very passive and/or nitty opponents.
- Big Blind Default Ranges and General Adjustments: Again, referencing population tendencies, Greg reviews more charts covering all possible stack depths. Additional discussion includes: 3bet bluffing "readless", adjusting our flatting range vs varying opening ranges, and a brief review of limp raising ranges and sizings.

Day 2 - Postflop Hyper Play

Day 2 consists of numerous hand examples, math explanations, and more emphasis on using population tendencies to our advantage.

- C-Betting: Greg discusses how to use cbet sizes to setup profitable stack to pot ratios (with hand examples at multiple stack depths). Also, there is a focus on cbet and barreling math.
Barreling: Greg focuses on how to barrel differently vs regs and fish and the math behind this.
- ValueBet sizing: During this time discussion covers optimal value-bet sizing. Greg touches on why we do not automatically maximize value simply by getting called more often. The video also includes examples of value-betting the river with 3 different sizes and the math behind it.
- Facing C-Bets/Barrels: To help with this, Greg has extensive population tendency discussion. He discusses how to adjust our OOP strategy for nittier or more aggressive opponents. He does this with hand examples and conceptual discussions.
- C/R Bluffing + Barreling: Greg will show how often a c/r bluff needs to work with different sizings. This will be based on population tendency + gameflow discussion. He has a few hand examples discussing continuing or shutting down our bluffs on the turn.
- Playing draws oop: Greg shows several hand examples at different stack depths. He focuses on deep stacks vs regs who usually have a wide cbet and deep vs fish who often have a tight cbet. There's also focus on shorter stacks vs either opponent.

Day 3 - Beating Hyper HU SNGs

On Day 3 Greg reviews several games in the PT4 hand replayer with heavy emphasis on proper use of the CoffeeHUD.

The first few matches reviewed have very small (or no) sample sizes vs our opponents. There is a heavy focus on population tendencies early on in the matches and bayesian estimators are used to adjust as sample sizes vs our opponents grow.

The last match reviewed is against an opponent that we have a much larger sample size against. This will allow more specific adjustments to the individual opponent, as opposed to playing against the population.

4 Bonus Videos in this Pack

In the first two bonus videos, HokieGreg reviews hands against different villains. He discusses his range for calling all in 3bets against opponents that shove frequently.

In the third and fourth bonus videos, Greg does a session on his charts to break down the best action based on your hand, position and stack depth.

I attended this live and am very content by the result.
Preflop charts are very good in my opinion and fixed some big leaks I was having in this area. This alone made up for the participation fee. Definitely found useful food for thought in all the other topics but preflop charts are the main attraction for me in this package.

Now only if Hookie would make a class focusing on playing regs ...

I also attended this live, it was the first I class I have joined but I am very happy that I did because the value from this was so good.

One thing though this isn`t for the beginner, but you don`t need to know much about hypers before this is really good for your game.

I attended live.

For me the charts & tools were valuable; namely once you try creating readless play based upon population tendancies you will quickly discover that even though all those vids seems like a walk in a park; it is actually hard to bring everything together. Consequently, given a worked out example (like in this pack + also present in mers e-book) facilitates this.

During the classes more then enough topics and pointers were discussed assisting you in creation of ranges & getting a better overview of thinking processes to assist you in readless & adaptive play.
Enough specific examples present to make things concrete.

His view upon how to deviate using HUD, bayesian statistics, reads, readless ranges gave pragmatic insights.

A bargain imo.

I attended the class too.
The class is interactive and I got solid value from the class.
All I can say is the class is well worth the money, anyone who looks to strengthen foundation of their games should def purchase the videos.

I had a great time doing this class guys. I think it went very well and it was surprising and exciting to see so many great questions from the participants.

I certainly wasn't expecting so many insightful questions. It helped really add more depth to the topics I was covering.

Thanks Orsulab3rt.

A few users can't get video 1 to show anything except the logo, even using VLC updated entirely.

We're working on resolving this and we might just reproduce video 1 into a different format for users that are impacted.

I'll update this thread and the download page on HUSNG.com once we have a solution.

What are some of the main takeaways that we can learn from this pack vs. the Master's Pack and/or Bernardc's pack? How much overlapping information are there? Cheers Ryan

Very good question.

The main uniqueness is present in most of the entire 6+ hour pack, in the form of population tendency work.

The Masters Pack has different point of views, and covers a lot of exploiting different players based on HUD stats (Hokie), finding the most important and common leaks in your hyper turbo game (Mers), maximizing your edge against fish (u cnat spel) and playing $100-1k level players of all skill levels (Carry Hero and Chadders).

Bernard's Pack is a guide from a very good $100+ hyper turbo regular, that covers all sorts of essential hyper turbo concepts.

With Hokie's pack, however, he's taken stats from regs at $60 type level buyins. He's looked at these stats and he's built a default strategy based on hand 1, based purely on facts. This isn't Hokie's opinion, or his own ideas, this is Hokie (much like Mers) looking at the information available and finding the factual adjustments and strategies based on that info.

Beyond that, Greg shows you how to build your own population tendencies, how to make the most of the data you pick up over time. He also talks about something that players often forget when they build a default strategy - how and why to adjust from there. You can't just build a strategy vs the population and then use that strategy blindly. As you get into hand 4, hand 5, hand 10, hand 11, you start to pick up more and more information. This information is often going to be different than the average opponent's tendency, so Greg teaches you how to weigh this new information and how to adjust.

There's a bayes calculator, there are some charts as well. There are deep explanations in the video pack on how to use these tools. This is not a shortcut for learning, but it is a great piece of information, over 6 hours long, that can really help a player improve if they put the work in.

The last part is really key. We don't sell shortcuts on HUSNG.com, we don't even pretend to. Shortcuts don't exist in this game in the way that most people look for them. The game is too complex and it takes too much work to be good, even with a hands on coach and great video packs.

And there are many more topics covered in this video series, I just believe the most unique and "groundbreaking" information relates to the population tendencies. I don't believe there is anything else like that in any of our other packs and certainly not else ware.

I'd say low stakes up to $100 probably and hyper turbo specific.

The price is lower than I wanted to make it in the end for a few reasons.

1) I locked into "this will be available for no more than $109" before the class. It was a 3 hour planned class. It went something like 5 hours.

2) The primary recording failed during session. The backup recording was done on some crazy high resolution setup, making the editing a giant pain. It also didn't catch some of the early parts so those had to be rerecorded. As such, the quality isn't amazing. I know a vast majority of people just want quality content, but the truth is if something is less than perfect audio or video, some % of people will not buy it at the same price or will complain. The price (and bonus videos) should certainly mitigate that in most cases.

So the original plan was a 3 hour video pack for $109.99, and it ended up being a 6 hour video pack for the same price.
