still reading,
would be awesome if the index had links to jump to the chapter right away

and i agree with emotionx, 1 ebook might not be enough to kill the games, so i hope u keep open minded about the idea of keeping ebook open to add more stuff along the way, and release 2nd, 3rd 4th edition... and so on

killing the games would be an awesome achievement as a career ending

Read ~2/3, and I have to say lol at the people who thought this would kill the games (I was one of them tbh). I think there exists a pretty clear line between those who would read the whole thing and get next to nothing from it, and those who whose games would improve. Ironically, the ones who would improve are the ones who already grasped pretty much all the concepts discussed, but the improving comes from the thinking that is stimulated. Knowing that Mers is an even better player than yourself, you question why he chose this spot to demonstrate his point, why he focused on that rather than the other, etc. Also the vast majority of it is telling you which things to go away and think about while not holding your hand and telling you how to think about them. In conclusion, Mers.

In coaching/videomaking I want all negative feedback because I have a responsibility to give people what they want. This is more like something I wanted to do my way and if it's not for you or there are details about it you would change, it's different. The book is pretty much what I wanted to say. Does it say it perfectly, of course not, I made a decision not to stop myself from doing something like this because it was going to be far from perfect. Giving it a fancy cover and hyping it up does I guess entitle people to be public about negative opinions, but even that seems kind of weird. It's like it implies I'm trying to tell people how awesome I am by writing this (or hyping this), and thus a fair topic of discussion is said awesomeness or lack there of. Which makes me sad because in putting a lot of soul into this book if people come out with that conclusion, well damn, ouch.
I can´t see any comment critisizing your work.
You seem to be allergic to "this wont kill the games" comments though, so maybe you view them as criticism? I didnt expect you to make "how to program your pokerbot" manual obv but still i feel relieved to see, that in the end most of your teachings can´t be applied right away without a lot of reflection and experience.(maybe subconciously i was afraid you´re gonna form an army of chinese mersebots )

Also imagining a fish shallowly reading through this makes me feel like this might be too advanced for them. he might be 3betshoving wider in the endgame but as a compensation he will overplay hands like K5o and J4s deep and c/r too much in the wrong spots and just be more suspicious in general.

Your book seems to be tailored to your old 100$ grinding self.
-> So regulars will get a lot out of it.
-> fish will be fish, unless they start working hard on their game instead of just reading your book once.

Thanks for taking the time for writing and publishing the book. It is a really good book.

Reading it won't turn me into a great player. But I don't think that was the point.

Mathematically
The book has given me a lot of ideas about how to go about solving some of the common puzzles I see and also given me some new problems to think about.

Psychologically
It was interesting to see how you view other players. I can definitely see bits of myself in each of the examples you used. And I wholeheartedly agree with your view about poker, tilt and life.

Re criticism don't sweat it
There are people in life who get out there and do stuff and then there are the others who don't do all that much but they are pretty happy to criticize from the sidelines.

OBV if your the one getting criticized you are pretty much on the right track in life.

I find it hilarious if people honestly believed picking up an ebook would turn them all in to the gods of HUSNG. It defiantly does put finishing touches to your game if you're willing to improve and work hard but at lot comes from natural talent anyways, you either have it at heads up or you don't simple as that.

I've read the book and I did find it very informative and easy to read. It wasn't boring like most books I read I tend to just shy away after I'm 30% in but I managed to read the book fairly quickly and found the whole lot very interesting.

There was some interesting thoughts and it's good to get a personal perspective on your thought process and defiantly some things I found in the book will help me in the future. Some of it was so simple that I can't believe I didn't pick up on myself, and there was a point in the book which will stand out the most and it's where you said about a "a-ha" moment from your students, I found a "a-ha" moment numerous times, so I believe it will help my game in the near future.

Thanks again mers,

Brilliant work.

Thanks for the book, a lot of interesting ideas! I was thinking of translating (a part of) it into Korean. Would this cause any copyright / copyleft problems?

i couldnt disagree more.
The ebook is written in a way that it is easily understandable by anyone somewhat familiar with heads up poker. The chapters about "how to learn" "meaningful and meaningless errors" allow the novice to read it in an efficient way. They are great. Not too much numbers. Thats what i like. Emphasis is put on fundamental concepts grasping. This ebook is really great.
I dont know of any other book that put in the same place all the necessary concepts to know in heads up poker.
Thanks Mers.
I am translating it into french. Not for release, just for me. I had never made this exercise before, and i am very surprised by how it allows to better understand things .

Bye

Maybe you're right. But there's not too much in the book that a mediocre player could just take directly to the tables without first having to figure out a lot of things on their own. In other words, a lot of the concepts could be wildly misapplied by someone with a faulty understanding of the game, or someone who is bad at reading and/or categorising their opponents. And I'm pretty ok with that.

I really havent seen anything that a mediocre player couldnt take to the tables directly. All advices are really in game oriented. And not difficult to understand given the wrinting style. The ebook helps to have a good understanding of the game, so helps players with faulty understanding. It helps defining what a good reading or classifying of opponent is. Sorry, still not agree.
alets not start a meaningless dabate. i dont want to be boring.

Have a nice day.

Well this book is a good thing for mers and bad for husng community. It wont kill games obv, but will make them harder, especially 100+. Since mers doesnt play anymore he does whats best for him and not random 2+2 reg. And thats fair.

Everything that makes games harder is bad for husng community. But no, not like spamz reviews. It's worse, because it provides more info. And it's advertised on many sites, unlike spamz reviews.

I mean. It's a very good book, you def are very talented etc. And you have all rights to do whatever you want. I just said that it's you and husng.com who benefit from it at expense (at some degree) of other (active) husng players. And there is nothing wrong with that. But if someone says that you did this for 2+2 community, I think thats just not true.

not really the sum of what it benefits some members of the community - what it does to hinder some members of the community = 0

what do you effectively gain when you read this in one day? the charts maybe, that's what I remembered after reading it for the first time. and yes we'll prob gonna have a harder time on QJ8 flops ip but aside from that for all the new concepts in the book you really have to think about them a lot b4 incorporating them and then it'll also be a really hit and miss approach for a while. also even the charts are easily worthless if used incorrectly

players forgot that it isn't a guide... it is a collection of articles that doesn't resolve the game. If you wanna crush the game you have to study HARD... I think only a few are willing to do that, so I can't see the problem here
