First hand of a tourney, basic question about double barreling First hand of a tourney, basic question about double barreling

Readless, the first hand of a tourney. You min-raise. Flop comes T72r, you cbet 1/2 pot, V calls, turn is a Q. Do you double barrel or do you want to have a read that V is capable of folding first?

In other words, do you try to get that read by barreling air here or do you prefer getting that read by betting value hands?

It depends of your "air"

Let's say you have no equity and a non-A/K over comes on the turn (so that it hits villain's flop x/c range less, like in my example. Ofc, I would be more inclined to double barrel (weak) draws readless

Any equity is very welcome. If you barrel any two cards here, you barrel too much in this spot, which might be easily exploitable.
However, saying it's first hand and we're likely playing a weak opponent(?), putting a turn cbet might not be as bad. So in general I'd say, if you're playing anyone decent, don't barrel with pure air here.
