PokerStars - 10/20 NL (3 max) - Holdem - 3 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

Hero (BTN): 430
SB: 670
BB: 400

SB posts SB 10, BB posts BB 20

Pre Flop: (pot: 30) Hero has 9 T

Hero raises to 40, fold, BB calls 20

Flop: (90, 2 players) 4 7 2
BB bets 45, [color=red]Hero ?

I thought that shoving here was as good as calling. But I found out on the solver that we should call here 99% of the times. any idea why?

It's a lead. And solver doesn't lead very often and when it does, it chooses the spots where BB has a range advantage (I guess). So I think, that we should call some of the FDs with overs here, so that we don't cap our range.

In fact, thing is, that you have a FD, two overs and POSITION. So you can outplay villain on later streets.

I am curious, if anybody has studied leading and has tried to incorporate it into your game.

Especially otf.

Solver is just playing all hands in such a way that it maxes the overall EV of the strategy. If you raise all combos like this on the flop, your range is super capped so range equity is very low across a bunch of runouts - best response strategy would counter you by being super aggressive on those runouts.
