1$ Turbo HSNG
Blinds: 10/20
Hero stack after the blinds: 1040
Villain stack after the blinds: 930
Hero Hole Cards: A2

Hero[BU]: raise to 50
Villain[BB]: call

Flop: 35J
Villain: check
Hero: bet 1/2 pot(50)
Villain: raise to 170
Hero: call

Turn: 10
Villain: check
Hero: bet 1/2 pot(220)
Villain: call

River: J
Villain: Shove(510)

Not sure if calling was the right decision. No real read on the villain, but I assumed he's a fish.
(In the end I call, he shows 33 I lose)

I was about to post a similar hand. I always call in these cases. It is a cooler imho

Oof.
The reason you call because you assume they are fish, should be because they can have trips J or a bluff. I think that’s okay, but what if it would be a reg, would you still call this shove?

I think regs have more bluffs on the river than non-maniac fish (but then you have reads), so should you not call more vs regs than vs fish?

Interesting hand. The problem on the river is that a fish could possibly overvalue K and they don't rep much except 33, 55 and J5s, maybe J3s too. You also only need to win about 25-30% of the time to make the call profitable. I think I would call but it's annoying for sure, AK probably is a better fold, for example.
