Is it ever more +ev to call instead of shove?

Think of this scenario both players have 500 chips , blinds are 10/20 , villain minraise to 40 and you have k9s , you think this is a +ev reshove but there is still the call option to consider , is it ever better to call instead of shove especially with middling hands?
Im reshoving too much i think , i wonder if its possible to drop the variance a lot and increase your edge even further by simply calling more , is it possible?

Never 3b-shove K9s, especially at 25bb. Pretty sure ev(call) > ev(3bs), unless you enjoy spewing post flop.

Haven't done the math but also under the impression that k9s is always a flat at most stack depths unless quite shallow. But even if villain is min raise folding a ton shallow I may still perfer to make a lower +EV flat with such midling hands and shove a bunch of suited trash so that we keep our 3 bet percentage down and increase the chances that villain doesn't adjust his strategy.

There was a period in my game, when I was shoving way too much of these hands. Results weren't the greatest at that time, I gotta say. :P Even vs people opening really wide.
So imo, definitely flat in like 99.5% cases.
