Dealing with unexpected limp/raise Dealing with unexpected limp/raise

I've found myself in theese kind of spots a couple of times lately. First level, villian raises most buttons, but has lilmped once or twice and I've checked. Nothing ordinary happened postflop. Then something like this happens:

Villian (SB): 1500
Hero(BB): 1500

Dealt to Button A 7

Villian calls 10, Hero raises to 65, Villian raises to 185, Hero?

If you like a fold, whats the bottom of your calling range, if you have one?

don't really like the raise. A7s doesnt really flop well and plays mediocre oop. you just don't dominate anything in his limping range. QJ type of hands are much better to raise a limp with imho.

if this is his first limp/raise i fold. seen a lot of people doing this with monsters. also if you call, almost anything thats not total crap plays pretty well against you in position. if he keeps doing it, it's clear that you gotta make looser calls here, but limp/raising is just soooo "special" to put it that way, that villain needs some kind of reason to do this. it's just not really something average villain does all day long.

so if you haven't like raised a million of his limps, i wouldn't ever expect him to play back here with anything that you have ever beat.

same opinion. Is to often a monster. You shouldnt raise the A7s oop. Better is to make a trap and get paid of when you hit the ace. He is less likely to give you an ace.

10-9 and j-9 better hands to raise a limp pre than a7, I think.

If this opp is a fish, and this is micro-stakes, I don't agree that this is a monster, given his sizing.

Given that, your ace is too often dominated. Just let it go.

This.

Easy fold. Your hand is dominated by his limp/raising range. Being OOP means you will almost never be comfortable playing this hand postflop.

Only raise A7s OOP vs only the most passive, weak players, as you know they won't be putting pressure on you. Imo it's better to check back, as your Ace is well disguised.

fold for sure , u dont need tobe i these spots.

A7 is an average hand , if he would have raised it from the start to t120 you would have folded ,so why call his reraise ?

also post what stakes r u playing.

I play mostly $50s.

I agreee that A7 is a fold, but it there anyone that have a calling range here? Or do you only have a raise/shove range?

This limp/3-bet is not something you get to see very often especially at low blind levels, but if I have to draw a line somehow, I'd flat w/ AJ-AT, KQ and 4betting w/ 99+ and AQ+.
