I'm sure SOME people in this forums, those associated to HUSnG.com at least, would care whether their coach is a respectable and trustworthy person and would want their coaches to not lie to people that are potential or potentially past or current customers of their site. This is NOT a "RANDOM" person, and if someone asks if he's a coach, it's clear he's not a RANDOM person, he's a 2+2 reg (doesn't mean he's owed the truth neccesarily) or a CUSTOMER, so, NO, NO, this is NOT a "random opponent", Sejje. Obviously I am NOT saying Cog Dis is not, but is it not fair to wonder if LYING puts this in question somewhat? It is something that can easily be answered and explained, but Cog Dis has posted in this thread and yet NOT explained WHY he lied. If he just said a white lie because he can't be bothered to talk, then sure, whatever, but NONE of this was done.

I'll assume that's a typo. I think it's bad in some contexts. At the poker table, if a bet is not involved, no I don't think it's bad. I certainly don't think that Cog hiding his identity is a moral failing. I do it too, to a large degree.

I don't coach, but I probably owe 2p2 more than Cog does.

If Cog doesn't know him he's still pretty much random. Cog's responsibility as a poker coach is to provide training to his students. As a poker video maker, it's to make videos. That's it.

I mean maybe the site owners have more they want him to do, but my interpretation of his moral obligation: THAT'S IT.

I haven't glossed over details. I just went into great detail, in fact. We agree that OP says Cog lied ITC about who he was. I don't care, I don't think it's Cog's obligation to tell anyone. I don't think it's a moral issue.

If you dig back and look up my positions on morality, I think you'll find that I have a very strict moral compass and I do NOT like "shady" things. This is not one.

Lastly, this thread doesn't justify a serious response from Cog. If OP wasn't a worthless POS and could write a serious accusation without kindergarten-type insults and talking about how his feelings were hurt, then I could see it.

Re: Sejje, yeah, you're right, and I suppose it was inevitable the thread ended this way especially considering the OP is not a regular poster, but I think I've at least added some logic to this and pointed out what I think was a lot of senseless bandwagon/bashing that was happening in this thread, and that's all I'm trying to do.

If you wanted to point and say, what's your problem, who cares if he lied or whatever, do you have too much time or something? Then yeah, I've said that myself after hearing about it, but there was more than this "lol whatever" mentality expressed. A lot more, some of it uncalled for.

Okay, I don't think Cog is shady, whatever, but I think asking why someone who's supposed to be respectable or whatever lied is a valid enquiry, and that a simple short answer should be expected, explaining it.

I also do not think a person who is the nicest guy ever would "not bother with this POS". It's understandable if you do, as you're not a coach or whatever, but Cog? Isn't it strange considering everyone's saying he's the nicest guy ever but all he can do is make a joke without answering any of the OP's questions about Cog's integrity or whatever? Really, not even a "I just didn't want to talk" which would've easily EASILY shut the OP up? What just because everyone's bashing OP he can join in and pretend no questions were asked?

I say this partially because I was told there is more to this going on that what is being said because he's telling me something about getting to PokerStars or whatever.

Oh, and after all this, I'd stake him for a HU prop bet if you give OP odds, since everyone thinks he'll get crushed. Overreacting or not, popular with the "in" crowd or not, I do not consider it a "sick beat" that he's my friend, so that part of the thread can be solved in a hu4rollz everyone loves.

He doesn't get a free pass just because he might have some kind of valid question buried in that gibberish. If he wants a person to answer his questions, he can act like a normal person when he asks them.

Normal people with valid inquiries generally don't start off with insults when all they want is an answer to their valid inquiry. Most normal people would just send Cog a private message instead of making a call-out thread.

Much better would be something like, "Hey, Cog told me he wasn't a coach when I asked him. What's up with that?"

Or, if he really wanted to get fancy, a private message: "Hi, Cog. You told me you weren't a coach when I asked you. What's up with that?"
