Is Coffecalcs the best tool for strictly HU SNG analysis? Is Coffecalcs the best tool for strictly HU SNG analysis?

I'm looking to do some in depth analysis for HU SNGs and I'm looking for the best tool(s) out there. Is Coffeecalcs from HUSNG good? Is there anything better?

Depends on the type of analysis you want to do.

Going over hands and comparing EVs of different lines/ranges. Figuring out GTO strategies for specific situations. Figuring out how to exploit different opponents given their stats/tendencies.

I'm pretty sure I can do this with Coffecalcs but is there a better program out there?

Coffeecalcs isn't a GTO solver program. CREV and GTO+, SimplePostflop, Piosolver.

I'd generally suggest CC if it's about exploiting your opponents in HUSNGs, CREV if it's about GTO. There's a host of other GTO software to compare to with CREV too. It'd be hard to justify studying GTO in depth for a low stakes player, whereas for pretty HS players it becomes a major component of their continued development.

But for CC there are features like insta push/fold Push/Fold calculations, post flop equity distribution charts, preflop strategy planner.

I already have CREV so if I got CC would I have everything I need or are there other tools out there that would be useful? Also, what's the best video pack you guys offer for hypers? I have your premium pack but I want something more structured that gives a good overview of general theory.

CC and CREV would be a very comprehensive pair of tools to use. As mentioned above, CREV is more GTO based, and there are plenty of other tools out there to consider (mentioned above), but CREV is solid for sure.

Structured pack for lower stakes guys, I would suggest Pbogz pack of ZZZ Crushing Hypers. Highest overall level of advice would be Lotte Lenya's pack.

So, for a HUSNG beginner, structured pack + CC would be a good start in studying one's game?

Thank you for your thoughts.

Yes farbehind, I would agree with that being a nice start for a HUSNG beginner.

Does anyone have links to the Structured Pack?

I think I meant to say "Standard" not "Structured" there. But the standard pack was merged into the Premium Pack the next year.

I wouldn't advise on those at this point though, while the Mersenneary and Coffeeyay and H2Olga vids in that pack would still stand up, most of that package of videos is just going to contain a lot of things to ignore/sift through to find the value. It's not worth it.

The 2021 Coffeeyay pack is the most up to date stuff, very comprehensive, dozens of hours of videos covering every aspect of the game. I'd recommend one of those packs to any level player (the HU one specifically if you're a HU player), they talk about how to problem solve, how to approach situations, how to learn, they're not going to be dated/based on some odd dynamic that changes in a year.

H2Olga/Lotte here.

Approach husngs from two angles.

Understand what ranges in all spots should look like in theory. Standard solver library like gto+/gtowiz is good.

The second part is highly underrated and somewhat lost today and it is what I tried to articulate in my old video pack. I did a bad job, but the key to great hu play and getting max roi vs fish is figuring out how your opponent structures his ranges and shifting your hands to counter that in every single spot. There goes a lot of nuance into this and best to play 1-2 tbls while focussing on this.

Any chance of an updated video pack/mini pack covering that second part?

I wouldn’t mind doing a video but I play other formats now and haven’t played husngs in many years so it’s tough.

If someone has footage rematching the same recreational opponent for at least an hour at 100s or up I would be happy to do a review of it tho.

I've got PT4 hhs of matches at 100s and up with lots of rematching vs essentially recreationals *shrug* might be fun to do a collab or something? I dunno.

Complete aside: How did physics end up going for you CC?

Hey coffeejay!

I would enjoy doing that but a big part of my game was paying attention to little things that would be lost in hhs instead of video footage. And right now my husng fundamental understanding will be super rusty so not sure that would make good material.

I quit physics after one semester
I wish I was pursuing something more noble than a card game. I really tried, physics, programming, but the math all felt so dull without any money on the line. Boring hard work. But the moment the math is about money my eyes light up. We can’t change who we are deep down.

What are u up to nowadays?
