Choosing turbos or Hyper turbos Choosing turbos or Hyper turbos

Hi guys. I'm gonna start playing poker again after a long pause. I've never played husngs but I've played some hu cash before. I wan't to study and play husngs this time. I'm trying to decide wether I should focus on hypers or turbos.
For a new player is it wiser to start with turbos and then make the transition to hypers if I'd want to in the future than it is to do it the other way around?

What would you recommend for a beginner, hypers or turbos?

Yeah that might be the smartest thing to do. But I'm gonna study a lot before I start playing and I'm afraid studying both hypers and turbos at the same time will confuse me too much

Well, studying hypers will absolutely help you in turbos, since the end of turbos (10-30bb in particular) will play the same and there is a lot of edge in that area.

Don't be afraid to jump right in at the lowest levels either, don't get too caught up in overstudy, playing is the most important thing, and while studying good content is very helpful, you don't want to end up being one of the guys that studies and never plays (can't win if you don't play).

Jump in without fear, see what you enjoy and go from there I'd say. Both game types have plenty of action in the lower to mid stakes too and are complimentary at the 30bb and lower stack sizes.

hypers = endgame turbo

start off with turbos and "expand" from there. you will notice some problems/issues when playing short stack: find/read articles about it

Ive never grinded hypers since i've been in US since BF. Long time SNG'r who played reg and turbo speeds. If i were you i would start out playing turbos. Turbos themselves can be quite swingy, hypers will be a lot worse. I'm going to make an assumption that the mental toughness side of your game will be quite rusty in terms of dealing with a downswing or any negative variance you might encounter. With hypers i'm assuming losing 10-15 buy ins is somewhat common with any kind of significant volume. Will you be able to handle that mentally? If you have any doubts i would steer clear till you are back in the swing of things and have at least 4-5k turbos.

Once again i have no experience with hypers. But with turbos your win rate will be higher and you'll experience less variance. Hypers you will get tons of volume and rakeback, but pay for it with a lower winrate and fun rides on the V-train. The rakeback % your getting should be a major factor in your decision as well. If its nothing too substantial then its a no brainer decision IMO.

I would had that Turbo are much more fun to play. You get so much pleasure from crushing your opponents with the reads you accumulate. You can profit from those reads much more easily than playing hypers. Unless you're playing a total ****** that will call 3bet push with 100% hands.. They don't happen that often.

This. Turbos just a better game in general. More fun/thinking/fist pump feeling when you're completely wrecking a guy.

Thanks guys. I was leaning more towards hypers but now I think I'm set on playing turbos instead.

I will try not to overstudy but since I know very little about husngs and my general poker knowledge is really rusty I want to get at least a somewhat decent understanding of the game before I jump in the game.
