Ben "Maxttilt" Lee scamming stakers. WARNING!!!! Ben "Maxttilt" Lee scamming stakers. WARNING!!!!

Dear 2p2 community,

I am writing here today to warn, and to inform everybody of the Singapore scammer Ben Lee, who plays under the Pokerstars username "Maxttilt".

When we usually stake people, we ask for a full photo ID (driving license, or passport). However, he was reluctant to send, and asked if he could cover his photo and home address for "security reasons". Reluctantly, we agreed.

He played under Team Crush for roughly two months. Slowly over time, we allowed him to have a bigger bankroll, as he gained our trust.

He asked us if he could have a real life loan, which we thought was very weird, as we are a staking team, and not a bank! However we decided to show him compassion, and said that we would loan him, interest free, up to $700. He did not agree, nor disagree, but this was the last contact we had with him. He has just disappeared with over $1300 of our money, and owes us a bunch of rake back too.

He has since been spotted playing $3 HUSNG. He has ignored all of our skype messages.

Please be warned, DO NOT EVER BACK THIS PLAYER!! Please make sure that anyone from Singapore, sends you their ID matching up with their Pokerstars account!

Be Careful!

Team Crush

He seems to be even more shady than you had just mentioned. He did the same to us, but he did it under the Stars name Evamannn.

He also has a Fulltilt name Bendamann.

When we were talking with him at the very end over TeamViewer, we saw the following email addresses on his google account:

Benjamin Lee: benlee8083@gmail.com
Evangeline Koh: evamannn@gmail.com
160 BWC: 160bwc@gmail.com
Benjamin Lee: beneve112@gmail.com
Benjamin Lee: benlee3103@gmail.com

We sent you a message via PM to see about working together on collecting funds. :-)

I just went through and pulled some more information on him:

The skype we had is benjaminlee93
HUSNG.com: wolfgang03
2+2: Bendamann

The 2+2 name appears to come up when you search it, but won't let me get to his profile.

We also have a couple of possible home addresses and ID too for anyone else who had issues.

He has another Stars name: wolfgang03

There is a famous asia poker portal talking about Maxxttilt here: http://www.pokerkaki.com/forum/viewt...hp?f=9&t=11902
You guys might be able to find more info with some help from the folks there about this guy.
Good luck for hunting down the scammer.
Just my 2 cents.

Hello Emilio,

Thank you for your email.

We have reviewed this case thoroughly. We have taken appropriate actions in cases where we have identified unauthorized and/or duplicate accounts. For privacy reasons we will not specifically mention what those steps were, or which accounts were affected.

Regarding the scamming that is going on, it is PokerStars position that we do not get involved in private matters between players. We do not encourage the kinds of arrangements you discussed, and do not act as the enforcer when those arrangements go wrong. We encourage players to only enter into financial arrangements with players they know personally, and whose trustworthiness has already been well established.

Thank you for choosing PokerStars.

At this point, it appears there *may* be two Ben Lee's who are both extremely shady and scamming backers from HUSNG's at the same time... :-/

Their Ben Lee is supposedly a student. Ours claims to be a pilot married to a pastor.

Despite the fact that there may be two different Ben Lee's, our Ben Lee definitely was very shady.

Here is the breakdown with our guy:

- He started played with us on Nov 13. He was given $900.

- On Nov 24 and Nov 26 he was given reloads for $900 each. That makes his total amount $2,700.

- He was staked for $30 Hypers but on Nov 29th he played 4 $100 hypers and $100 MTT's. He lost around $350 in those games. He didn't grind any more after that.

- We tried to reach him on skype for a couple of days and when we couldn't reach him, we emailed him on Dec 3rd asking him about the games he wasn't supposed to have played and why he hadn't grinded since then.

He emailed us:

Hi.

I'm having a big problem. About a week ago. I received news that Singapore would be looking to ban online gambling, specifically poker sites. I heard from my sources that it would be about a week before anything would be confirmed. I thought it would be no big deal so didn't let you guys know as I didn't want to lose my Staking deal.

I haven't played for a couple of days, and now I am unable to login to my stars account. It simply just doesn't connect. Same for ftp or any poker site. My Neteller account is also under review due to the funds used for gambling. Access to pokerstars.com is blocked under the Singapore government act and I'm unable to access any client. Can you please advise?

- We again tried to reach him on skype and when we couldn't, emailed him back and asked to set up a specific time to talk on skype.

- There were two other big issues up to this point. #1. In the email to us, he didn't mention that he had also cashed out our money to his Neteller account and that his Neteller account had since been suspended because supposedly someone was trying to hack him.

- #2. On Dec 1st, he had emailed us to let us know when he would be available for coaching the following week. In that email he didn't mention anything about Singapore being banned, or that he had cashed out our money from Neteller, even though those had both happened 3 days prior.

- We were finally able to have a conversation with him on December 11th as that was the first time he was available. (At this point, he still hadn't told us that he had cashed out our money or that it was lost on Neteller).

- He then told us that he had cashed out our funds to Neteller because he was nervous it would be stuck on Stars when Singapore was banned. Also, someone had hacked into his Neteller account and stole our money. When he called Neteller to tell them, they had suspended his account.

- We called him on his phone number to discuss working out a payment plan for the money he owed us. After agreeing to make payments to work off the money owed, he hung up out of the blue and then he didn't answer our calls back.

- He replied to an Email a day later and among other excuses said:

I am unable to pay back anything now, as I do not know whether I will be getting back my money from Neteller. I am unable to pay you because my wife feels that it is not fair to me that my poker sites have been disabled, and that I am unable to access anything, and that my neteller account was frauded and suspended, and now I have to pay back my debt out of my own pocket.

- We then set up another skype conversation with him. In that conversation he agreed that he would call Neteller each day and keep us updated about the funds from Neteller. If Neteller would not unban his account we would discuss how he would pay back the money he cashed out on his own. Once we had that first $1,500 paid back, we would discuss the other $1,200 and how to move forward. We left that conversation agreeing to update us daily.

- The next morning he blocked all of our staking skype accounts as contacts. He didn't answer any phone calls or return our email.

- After this thread was posted, he then re-added us on skype and contacted us via email and told us that Neteller had unblocked his account and he sent us $1,450~.

- We are now in discussions to have him pay back the remaining balance he owes, but it doesn't seem to be going well.

On top of the many *super* shady spots in this story, he also denied ever blocking us on skype... I guess it did it on its own? And he was also caught on more than one occasion mixing up his story about when he was out of town.

I think that covers almost everything.

I'm playing from Singapore and i can confirm that Stars and Full Tilt are still working fine and that i am still able to process withdrawals through neteller. It's a shame that someone would resort to something this low for a quick profit.

He is bull****ting you guys.

At the moment, there is no ban on any poker/casino sites except Party Poker in Singapore.

The Singapore government will probably implement this ban by early quarter 2014, if not at a later date.

Quick update: Ben Lee contacted us over skype and we settled a deal. He has already paid back 650$ and will pay back the rest within 1 month. He appologized that he hasn t contacted us earlier. He told us that he has been super busy at work and never intended to scam us. He would have paid back us in full by now if his pokerstars account wasn t frozen.
