Hi, this is my first post, so I hope I'm doing it right. I played this hand at the 1.50 hyper hu's. How should I play it at the flop? Should I make a smal continuation bet? and was my fold ok?
It wouldn't be called a continuation bet if villain donks the flop. Imo it's close between a shove and fold. Depends on reads, if villain donks often etc.
Calling would be bad because we definitely do not have the odds for that and the implied odds aren't that high. Also we have to assume that villain bets again on the turn which we probably can't call either. If villain has a strong tendency to donk bet, it's definitely good to shove because of the fold equity. Even if villain calls, we usually have at least 30% equity. Adding fold equity to that should make the play profitable. You have to keep in mind though, that villain could also call with a flush draw, which would give you less equity.
If your reads tell you that he probably calls a shove, fold would be the right option. As played the fold was good.
EDIT: Seeing that it's the first hand, I would just fold otf. You really need a strong read to shove here, because of the size of the bet and board structure. It's never a call though in my opinion.

thanks for your answers, it really helps. :-) Villain was really aggressiv, though.
I actually have a lot of trouble with really aggressive villains and it seems I can'treally adapt to them atm...
A generell advice would be to NOT fight aggressiveness with tight play, but with focused aggression. Use his aggression against him, value check raise him with second pair, play your draws aggressive and figure out if villain is just aggressive pre flop or shows loose-maniac plays. If that's the case fold equity becomes less important and playing your cards becomes more important.

Since cartels(divisions) are allowed i'm wondering if my idea could also work.
Lets say a group of 20 people decide to start sitting one guy at 30s. Then they offer him to stop sitting him for 90 days if he pays 3-monthly fee 100$ (kinda like a sharky subscription, you pay to get to play vs fish).
After he pays you move to another guy and so on. I think it would also be possible to get some 60s cartel members to pay, because they would rather play fish and have 5% ROI than battle vs regs and at best get 1% ROI.
Do you think pokerstars would have a problem with that?
I think PS wont matter, but cartel will think about counter strategy as well. And It's hard to find 20 guys who are not in cartel and can be as good as cartel members... It's possible but it requires a lot of work and it seems it won't be very useful at the beginning. You fight cartel member and loose money and the you offer him to pat 100$ monthly? 100$/20hunters=5$ each.... Off course if you will be very good and ALL cartel wouldn't want to play with it fine to get something like 3$k every month for doing nothing, but I think it wont last long when cartel start to fight back and the only winner is PS...
Im pretty sure its against 2+2 TOS to advertise services like this outside specified forums.
And yeah this has been done before, but lets just see what stars says about that if you do that in a organized fashion exorting their players.. imo its a surefire way to get your account banned and funds confiscated as it is fundamentally different to whats happening otherwise.
I believe paying to sit or not sit is not allowed. At least I've seen sites stop it in the past and it was the key decider in stopping a player from hunting another.
is it still worth to play turbos on stars?
I tried hypers, but the variance is killing me...
But I´ve I look at the tables on 7$ there is not much action and on higher limits It is even worse
Are the hypers at 1.50$ and 3.50$ still at all beatable with 4.6% and 3.4% rake? Obviously you can't make much more than a pittance there but just curious if the action there is actually so soft that you can make up for the rake or have they made it completely unbeatable?
