Hi all!

I would like to know your thoughts on the following spot.

HU hyper sit&go.
Stacks:
SB (Hero) : 25BB
BB (Villain) : 25BB

PREFLOP: Hero raises to 2BB with 87o. Villain calls

FLOP: AK3r Villain checks. Hero bets 2BB. Villain calls

At this stack depth, Villain should be 3-betting most of the stuff that hits the flop, so we can assume his range will be very week. However I don't really know how to interpret that call. I cannot think of too many hands he could have that would slowplay here (K3?, AA?, KK?),

In short, I guess I should be barrelling most turns, as my hands have no showdown value and I could potentially make him fold stuff like 53s or even K9o (on the turn... or on the river!). What do you think about the way I should play the rest of the hand?

villain can have some offsuit Ax and a bit of suited Ax, most Kx, some offsuit 3x, all suited 3x, gutshots, and random highcards with bdfd

problem with barreling vs fish is some will have all the Ax in their flatting range or just call down super wide

problem with barreling vs reg is some will just realize they are capped and call down really wide

you really need to have an idea of how your opponent is playing and thinking to know what the best line is here

as a default with no information, i would recommend a low variance line, small cb (1-1.5bb) and giveup turns

if I get some more information like weakness in his timing pre or a pair donking tendency then I would be more likely to make some large aggressive adjustments

Villains in general won't have any sets or AK here, but some of them will definitely have a hand like K8o and be able to click call on 3 streets. You also run into some weak Ax for sure (hands like A2o-A7o or so) that's never folding. Depends on the villain how much you can barrel.

I think that your c-bet is way to big for this kinf of flop!
Many fish have way more Ax in their flatting range, than they should be and you could cost yourself a lot of money just blindly barreling in spots that you think that your opponents are weak just because the flop is way better for you than for them!
Especially against fish, that usually don't call backdoors, getting a call here is either a gutshot or some kind of pair.
Against regs, they are calling some Ax suited, and offsuit ones because if they only 3-bet or 3-bet shove their Ax,they are getting exploited when they call PF and A-high boards come!
Ranges in HU are pretty wide and in 25bb deep all the Ax,Kx combos are either calling or 3-betting PF.
You have the nut and range advantage but you must take into consideration, other factors, concerning how wide are the ranges!
