Let's say I am in a Big Blind with 600 chips left and SB shoves into me. There is no ante in the game. After posting BB of 200 chips I have to call for 600 to win a pot of 1600. 600/1600 pot odds = 0,375 minimum equity to make a call. But if there is a 7% rake in the game then I automatically loose 7% of my chips to an operator and have to make up for this. With 1500 starting stack I lose 105 chips. Every time I make a call I need to make sure it is earning me at least 105 chips to break even. So now I add 105 on top of the 600 I have to call and end up with pot odds of 705/1600 = 0,44. This is a 6.5% gap between those calls. Before, I could call with, for example T5o.

After rake T8o is a losing call and Q5o is barely an EV+ play.

MP3 44.60% 41.98% 2.62% Q5o

Am I right with my considerations? Should I be making those adjustments on all multipliers or just on 2x, since rake is "expressed" with the frequency of those "under 3x" multipliers?

if playing 100x multiplier, would you call with 32o each and every hand only because rake is 'negative' by that logic and you are auto-profitable no matter what you do?

Just play to your best ability, if facing bad player(s), you can skip some marginal/break even calls in chips, but you cant expect to put such chip handicap on each decision - you would get eaten alive.

Rake is a factor in your decision to register for the spin and go. Once you have clicked the register button, it is 100% irrelevant.

You mean that if I don't feel I can make up for the rake with my skill then I shouldn't play the game and that's it? But how can you know that before playing 50 000 spins?

You have to make an educated guess. Poker is all about estimation, about weighing sample versus expectation and/or results.

I think he means you have to make up for the rake only by maximizing your chipev in every decision..

Let's say you ply 50.000 tourneys where you pay 1$ for each game, total rake will be 50.000$. That's inevitable. Now you simply ignore rake and maximize your chipev in each decision. That would make the most $.
