I'm a french spin and go grinder. I don't know if it's the same elsewhere but french rooms have very different jackpot structures.

For example, Winamax and Pokerstars.fr have opposite structures.

- Pokerstars.fr have very low big jackpot probabilities and low 2x probability

- Winamax is the exact opposite

I've been playing with swongsim to understand how this affect your grind and i came with an idea to visualize differently how different these structures are.

I made some simulations (1000 players play 50.000 games) and tried to visualize the rake distribution across time. How many players paid more than 10% rake ? less than 6% ?


Here are my results, i thought maybe some of you would be interested.

Very interesting. So if I undestand this correctly, on Winamax there are few players who pay <0% rake pretty much consistently while everyone else pays quite a bit more on average and the spread is much higher.

Whereas on Pokerstars.fr everyone bar very, very few pay slightly higher than is expected. Correct?

Seems like Winamax is quite bit more swingy then. I bet Party's variance would be off the scale in this model.

Yes pretty much, but it's hard to describe it in a few words as distributions are complex and change across time.

Here is an example after 10.000 games :



Most of the ps player are between 6 and 8% rake whereas on Winamax most of them paid 8 to 10% rake. However on Winamax big jackpot winners are way more numerous.

I think this type of visualisation helps a lot to understand the distribution :
