There are plenty of others than what I listed here, to find them just use the search > advanced search > search for "tight" and a dozen videos should show up minimum (there's also a category in the heads up video guide).

Here are a few hand picked ones:

Standard Level (Premium can also access):

Exploitive Play by MJW - mjw talks about how to maximally exploit a tight opponent in this video

RyPac Playing Tight Players - A bunch of tips and strategies to help beat tight opponents, including a short game review of Nathan/1690AD

Cog Dissonance Heads Up Fundamentals: Tight - This video is based on Cog's fundamentals course, a guide on beating tight opponents.

Here are two premium videos as well

xSCWx 3 Turbos on Carbon
- Contains some tight opponent destruction

The Regular Grind by Mersenneary
- Mersenneary plays a regular session and runs into a few tight opponents.

What program/codec/settings to you use to compress your videos? The quality is great considering the file sizes imo.

Varies by coach, most coaches have camtasia I believe with a few exceptions.

Shoot me a PM if you want anybody's specific settings, I'll get that from them for you.

Ah, no need to bother them and slow down the releases ; ) I'll do it the hard way and play around with a few more settings. But thanks for the offer.

Just wanted to give you guys a heads up about these uploads.

Maybe you can try to contact the hosters and threat them with suing for copyright laws or w/e. Becouse some guy here is the owner of HUSNG.com, am i right? It is not fun to run a site dependent on subscriptions when theres a illegal one for free i suppose. I just downloaded 1 vid to see if it's any good and it was so i think i'm gonna subscribe soon

p.s feel free to edit away the link or i will do it myself as soon i got a response.

mod edit: removed link

Thanks beef. Will get that removed ASAP.

It can be difficult to fully remove everything at times, as one file going up on one site is often copied to zillions of others.

You can at least rest assured that most of the people that find these are not serious players and never will be, but I'm always vigilant about this and have removed hundreds of files like this over the years.

Take a look at our video planning guide.

I'd also recommend just trying out a recent video or two from each of our instructors (there are probably about 12-15 contributors). Often members find a few instructors they really learn from best/enjoy the most and the decision becomes much easier for them on which videos they prefer to watch first.

If you are the user that just emailed me, your email is not accepting my return email for some reason (my husng.com email).

Send me a PM if you are that user, give me your email address and I can give you your password (then change your email on the site to another email address that can receive emails from husng.com for any future contact).

Recently signed up to husng.com because i wanted to learn how to play hyper turbos.

I was obviously going to begin with Cog Dissonance "guide to hyper....", because that/those seem to be the only power point type presentation videos for standard members.

On his blog however, he wrote this.

Quote:
One of the members asked me a question at the end of one of my videos. He said in my superturbo guide I recommended opening Ax, Kx, Qx, Jx and a few other hands, yet when he watches the videos of my play I open a much wider range. What a great question and I think it highlights how your game changes over time. When I made that video I thought it was good advice for players new to ST and I was opening wider than that range, but that much wider. Now my game has changed and I think the advice sux.

So what does this mean for the videos on the site? It means you really need to see the latest videos and if you're watching older material, there's a decent chance it will be out of date. Even more so with ST, the evolution of play in that format is accelerated compares to reg speed and turbos.
So seeing as he think the advice sux, I'm not too keen on going through it as it could potentially be outright harmful advice given how he phrases it in his blog.

I'm trying to build some kind of frame to use as a generic frame to start out and build upon. Which hands to open, which to 3-bet, shove 4-bet etc. But all the videos on the subject I've seen is mainly live play videos which doesn't seem ideal for this at all.

Given this, what videos would be adviced to begin with? Or are there other resources like forum posts, articles etc that I've missed?
Basically looking to get a good solid "guide" or framework that "doesn't suck", where i can then build upon and adjust based on tendencies, ranges etc.

Please note, I've read the "video guide" but it doesn't help much given the videos with the "sucky advice" are listed as a starting point.

Thanks!

Thanks for the completely valid post.

I think outdated is the wrong word to use (Cog's words, not your's) and improvements is correct. Since in Cog's own words it wasn't "best" to raise what he recommended back then, so it's not outdated, but inferior to his current quality.

I would start with these two videos for top notch ST advice (they are both premium videos):

http://www.husng.com/content/mersenn...ay-small-blind

http://www.husng.com/content/mersenn...play-big-blind

We try to stay away from "guides" in general, just because there is really no standard guide for play in any heads up format that can simply be read, applied then expected to turn you into a big winner. Most of the live play videos should stress adjustments to your opponent.

The live videos should also stress "default play" which would be similar to a starting point, as that is kind of the standard approach taken against an unknown opponent (which is what I think you're looking for in a guide mostly). But you will absolutely want to be adjusting to each individual opponent as you learn information about them, and the videos on the site should demonstrate that effectively. As long as STs continue in popularity, it is very likely that we'll have some sort of dedicated resource page for these.

Let me know if you have any follow up questions.

Also, apologies for keeping a video up that a coach regards as "sucky," that's certainly not my intention. I think Cog's comment specifically refers to hands he prefers to raise preflop, which used to be a much tighter range (he's been known to limp a wider range than most coaches in many formats) and he's changed that thought process over time.

Thanks for the reply ChicagoRy.

As I'm playing the 3.50s, getting a premium membership is not really feasible at the moment, although it will certainly be a priority once i can afford it via my bankroll. I will check out those two vids when that happens.

Not really looking for a guide, that is probably not the correct term (not my native language etc), more of a framework to build a foundation.
As a beginner It's quite hard to dissect opening ranges etc from watching leakfinder type videos. It gets overwhelming.

I will manage with the videos that are available to me. Maybe it gets less frustrating once I've watched a few more videos and previous material starts to click and i can put together the pieces.

Understood, and the standard membership should suit you fine. Please shoot me a PM or post in here if you'd like if you need any specific recommendations once you've seen a newer Cog video or two as well as some of the other content in there (often after watching a few instructors, players have a good idea of what they prefer to watch next).

We're working on some more ST content, though there are some added hurdles as things like short term results versus abilities of coaching and articulating concepts is even more misaligned at times than it is in the turbo or regular speed structure.

I'm confident we'll supplement the extensive end game/ST/HT material we currently have with some more fundamental/concept type videos in the near future, and along with 1 or 2 newer primarily ST coaches.

ryan,
free videos don't show up in lists/search; only standard and premium do.

eg: list of you vids; I don't see you 2 recent free hyper videos there
http://www.husng.com/category/videos/rypac13s-videos

same with Master Video List search

[edit]looks like free videos are only tagged as,well, "Free videos" instead of stakes and whatnot like all the others.

Hi Shinigami,

This is correct, the free videos are all on the free video page here: http://www.husng.com/content/free-heads-up-poker-videos

Also, on the Videos page of the site you can click on "free videos" to get taken to that page.

The way the system is setup, free videos are put into a different area. We might change some things, but mostly would just likely add a link to the paid videos of subscription packages from individual free videos (so that new users can more easily check out paid videos or subscribe).

For some reason there are no tags, that one I have no idea why it is the way it is and that's something I'll look into.

It starts when you purchase, and lasts for the duration you purchased.

So if you buy a 3 month premium membership you will have access for 3 months from whenever you purchased it (October 23-January 23~).

We have some fun stuff coming up, new instructors, new series, some excellent premium content and continued standard membership videos we've been pumping out at a high rate for awhile.

Nope, try another player (I'm used to KMPlayer and it didn't work, Windows Media Player worked just fine though)

They are in .mov format while most of the vids are in .wmv, I think that's the reason.
