VLC media player should work or media player classic, I use those two a lot myself.

I googled around for Mac specific answers. I found this article that should help (note: 90% of our videos are in the .wmv format).

Make sure you also unzip the files first.

Jesus I've just typed a huge post and got a 405 not allowed error. Something else in my clipboard obv, fml.

I'll make it super short then. ChicagoRy, what level of HUSNGS should I be at to make the subscription a good value? In your experience / from your vast statistics on the subject / testimonials or just an educated guess, really.

EDITED: I've been told that it's always a good value by others of course. But what I mean is, if at the $2.10 level with a $80ish roll, spending 1/3 of that for a subscription seems unreasonable. Just to clarify my question.

It can still be a good value with $80, but honestly this is what I would recommend to you:

- Play as much as possible.

- Post hands here and on HUSNG, particularly hands that are common situations that you face. Try to post one hand per day.

- Watch the free videos, read some of the sticky threads (Spamzor HHs in particular).

- Keep playing. Getting into the habit of playing a lot early in your poker "career" is really ideal.

If you follow that pretty well and stay focused, there's a good chance you'll grow enough to buy the $25 subscription in the near future.

You can also sign up for various poker rooms on our site and earn a free subscription. The best deals only require $20-40 in rake paid to earn a free subscription, which is pretty low and probably achievable for you within a month.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

I'm going to sign up with a merge skin through one of your rakeback deals later today, but wanted to ask a few questions about it.

1. Which skin is best when considering support, cashout etc.? (I already have a Carbon account)
2. How is the blind structure in their HU SnG? And how fast are the levels in reg vs. turbo?

I'll start out on the micros, so I don't expect traffic to be a problem?

Thanks for a great response ChicagoRy, very informative. I'll try to follow that advice and hopefully sign up soonish. I'll go with the read and post route, as I'm not planning to move my impressive roll anywhere except P*, and I already have an account there.

@ ADThomsen, as a fellow micro-guy, just wanted to make sure you pay close attention to rake paid? Micro husngs on great many sites tend to be 10 or ever 20% rake. Makes beating them over a large sample somewhat... umpossible. Not sure how merge is, but ipoker is the only network I know of that offers 5% rake husngs right from the very bottom of the ladder ($1.05).

Yes you are right. FTP is not too bad on the micros, but Party is just disgusting with their 20%.

So as an extra question I would love to know what the rake is on micro HU SnGs on Merge, if anyone can answer that?

Merge's structure and rake is similar to PokerStars. They have 5 and 10 minute level heads up sngs, rake is usually 5% (there's some discount as you move up, I believe $110 has +4 not +5).

So you're basically playing on PokerStars, except the population is much smaller (and much softer, this is more true as you move up).

As fare as skins, I'm partial to Carbon, but haven't tried any other ones.

Sportsbook is a large skin, I'd feel comfortable with them. Overbet, black chip, poker nordica, gr88 are all other skins we offer on merge that I haven't heard anything negative about.

PlayersOnly is the other one, and while I haven't had major issues with them, I have had a number of small issues with players signing up there, so I'm not necessarily recommending them as your first choice through us.

Signed up with Players Only before reading this

I haven't deposited yet though, so I might change it when I get home from work today. Thanks for replying again.

Is it possible to pay for a husng.com membership through pokerstars? And who do I have to contact for this?

We try to avoid things like site transfers, they aren't something the poker sites approve of.

I would be lying if I said I haven't made exceptions, but it's not any official/regular option.

We offer paypal, with or without a paypal account. You can essentially pay by paypal transfer, credit or debit card (again, without needing a paypal account) and a few other ways (eChecks among others).

You can PM me with any questions about this.

Going to sign up for a UB account through HUSNG.com rakeback.

Do I need to deposit in order to get things going? Or can I have a friend transfer my roll over from stars?

I'm looking to build my roll up before I deposit, so when I do, I can take full advantage of the deposit bonus.

Will be a few months (being optimistic) before I make enough rake for a free subscription though, so might purchase one in the meantime.

I believe you have to use the deposit bonus within 60 days of sign up. I also believe you have to clear the deposit bonus within 60 days of signup.

So you can start playing on day 1 with transferred funds, but to take advantage of the bonus I believe you'll have to both deposit and clear your bonus within 60 days of signup.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

I assume HUSN.info is part of HUSNG.com?
Sounds like a silly Q I just came accross it while on Google.

This site is not a part of our site.

The URL/name is obviously closer to our name than I would like. However, rather than try to force somebody to give up a domain blindly and with aggression, I chose to contact the owner when he first launched.

What I found was a very nice guy that was perfectly understanding of my concerns of his domain name and market. We discussed what he wanted to accomplish with his site and in the end what you see currently is fine by me. I believe there were one or two initial things he had up on the site that myself and another poker site owner requested changed and he had no issue with it (some content duplication/copying outside of what is normally acceptable).

That site does have an affiliate agreement with us and is focused on general heads up sng information. It's also relatively young and is just a side project for the author.

So in short, no it is not a part of our site, but it does have an affiliate status to our site (referring new visitors to our site). The owner is a nice guy that I talk to regularly.
