Thanks for the feedback.

We've released standard videos from SmallPears, Coffeeyay, PHMERC, Katipo and Jacktheshipper in the last couple of weeks, did you specifically have any recommendations of what you'd like to see more of and what you might want to see that you aren't seeing now?

I noticed you were a standard member, so that's why I'm talking about the standard video membership (for viewers out there, it's the $25 per month membership with no sign up fees that gives access to about 350 videos).

If you're a mid to high stakes winning player you could also be viewing videos that are below your skill level. Our standard membership is aimed more towards low and mid stakes players (or struggling higher stakes players), while our premium membership has another 300+ videos that are a geared more towards professional and players that aspire to be professional level players. The premium videos usually take place at higher stakes, against higher caliber opponents and are made by more successful players ("on average" can be applied to each of the previous statements, sometimes we'll have a $10 game played between two pros or something along those lines that would qualify as an exception).

^ Since we're on the subject, I'll just note that the premium tier has recently added videos by sa1251, h2olga/lotte lenya, in addition to new Mersenneary, xSCWx, HokieGreg and Heybude content each month (and access to all the standard level videos and the library of premium videos made in 2009-2011 from players like Skates, PrimordialAA, SkaiWalkurr, Melanie Weisner, Croixdawg and more).

Sorry I might have been wrong. I was looking at the bit of the site which said:

"Last updated January 11"

Are all of the older vids still that relevant?

Cheers.

PS I'm not being an ******* when I'm writing in here, although it might appear so. I just have a blunt way of questioning/commenting.

No problem, didn't take your comment negatively at all (actually took it positively, we don't get a ton of specific feedback in general, people tend to not say anything unless really upset, but that doesn't mean things can't improve in many ways, so it's good to hear feedback).

That's just the videos page count that hasn't been updated in a few months. That just means the total numbers listed for each instructor on that videos page is only up to date until January (so the videos from January 6 until now aren't added to the total video count on that page).

I try to update it every other month, but I have some free time now so I'll make that a priority and get it done.

Note: The newer videos still show up on the main page and under each instructor section, I just haven't updated the count for each instructor on that table.

This actually is even better feedback than I initially thought because I never associated the video count on that page with newer video totals, but like many other cases I've come across in the past, that's because I'm constantly working on the site, and it sometimes makes me blind to navigational gaps and the perception from the average user (or in this case, average member, which probably means the average non member is even more likely to look at the Videos page that way).

Re: ░▒▓██▓▒░ HUSNG.com Open Thread (Videos and more) ░▒▓██▓▒░

Also, to the question about older videos: I think basically everything in 2011 is relevant today, once you start to get back into 2010 some things may start to need to be taken in the context of the video or against the specific opponent and you will want to avoid taking the "average opponent" or population tendencies advised in the video as precise as you would a new video.

So basically, if you're watching a video from 2009, I think some key differences will be:

- Your average opponent will have different frequencies than the average opponent today.

- Your average coach will not be as advanced or as experienced as they are today.

- Adjustments based on what the opponent is doing throughout the video should be focused on, as those are really the rarely changing aspects of the video (and luckily compromise a great deal of the average video value to begin with). Basically, if an adjustment against a specific opponent was good 3 years ago and the adjustment was made based on information seen in the match (and a major part of the decision was not population tendencies, which is more relevant when readless/very little info on opponent), then the adjustment is going to be just as good now.

Videos from players like Skates, and Primo's heads up sng from scratch on our site are still popular and many players of various levels tend to still report good value on these videos (Skates more so for mid to high stakes players, the hu from scratch more so for beginners).

But the main reason we add new videos is because players (coaches/winners in particular) improve a lot, so their adjustments are more precise or better than they were previously, they just learn how to make the best decision more and more frequently over time as they play more games. They also learn how to better explain their thought process over time. The actual day to day games I think have changed different than in games like 6 max, where you see people regularly say things like information from 4 years ago is totally irrelevant. I'm not sure if that is true, but in heads up sngs it is far from true, especially if you factor in the above considerations (the 3 points I made) when studying older material.

Re: ░▒▓██▓▒░ HUSNG.com Open Thread (Videos and more) ░▒▓██▓▒░

Updated: http://www.husng.com/content/heads-u...os-our-coaches

34 free videos, 363 standard level videos, 321 premium videos for a total of 718 total videos (all but a handful are heads up sit and go focused).

I'll get the free videos page updated later today as well (it is missing the last 5 or so free videos, and I'll add a Mental Game section since we have 2 free mental game full length videos from SGT RJ, a short detilter from SGT RJ and a whole bunch of short free videos from Jared Tendler).

I can actually embed them all here on 2p2 (via youtube), so maybe a Mental Game Improvement Thread in this forum with a bunch of those free vids embedded to kick things off?

Hi

I'm a new player in HU SNG and to improve my game I decide to subscribe a standart membership.

I have trouble dealing with both loose passive & lag villains. So here's my question :

Is this series still revelant "RyPac13's Aggressive Leakfinder Series" ? if not (and even if yes) what others videos do you suggest ?

TY

PS: I play 10-30 turbos

An option of buiyng single videos would be great. I dont think many people are willing to buy/renew premium membership just to watch the new mersenneary video.

That may be an option in the future (individual videos for sale). Another site once was developing that and wanted us to join them, but it didn't end up happening for us.

I don't understand the Mersenneary comment though. We've released Heybude, H2Olga and SA1251 premium videos in the last 7 days, along with Mersenneary, so a new premium member would've seen 4 well rated videos in the last 7 days and more in the next 21 days. The premium membership is for players that are aspiring to be professional level HUSNG players or current professionals. So we try to put out consistently good content for these players in that membership.

I play low stakes regular speed Hu on PS. Should i watch turbo videos or just better not, cause there are a lot more turbo videos in low/mid stakes than regular speed videos.

Re: ░▒▓██▓▒░ HUSNG.com Open Thread (Videos and more) ░▒▓██▓▒░

Definitely watch turbo videos, many of the decisions are identical to the ones you will face in regular speeds. The major difference will just be the length of time you're making decisions at deeper stacks (it'll be higher in regular speeds).

I would also suggest watching videos at least up until the $50 or $100 levels as a lower stakes player, possibly even higher if you're comfortable with what you're learning (if you understand what the players are doing and explaining in the videos).

It's a common myth that high stakes videos are super advanced and can't be understood until you're in the high stakes. They can actually be easier to learn from, since high stakes players are on average better players, more exact in their decisions and more correct at identifying and weighting different variables during any given decision.

I dont mean other videos arent worth watching. What I mean is many people play superturbos exclusively and arent interested in >30bb stuff that much. Therefore a possibility to buy just a single video would help a lot. Discounts for purchasing more videos would be nice too.

Gotcha, thanks for the clarification.

We may go that route in the future, but we will probably need a system overhaul to make it happen.

Maybe someone could recommend which videos to watch where is discussed how to play against very aggresive players, who constantly 3bets, floats almost every board, never folds to cbets and so on.

ITRIED2WARNU has a video on dealing with maniacs, I have an aggressive leakfinder series (I believe video 3 and 4 are the ones people find most resemble their everyday aggressive opponents), in addition use this page http://www.husng.com/content/heads-u...planning-guide

The 2nd number at the top explains how to use the advanced search feature to select video tags that you want. Look for maniac, aggressive opponent, aggressive, wide 3bet, lag opponent, those sorts of tags and then see what videos pop up. Mersenneary, HokieGreg, xSCWx should all have multiple videos against these types of opponents.

I would also recommend taking a look here: http://www.husng.com/content/heads-u...planning-guide

Mjw006's beating mid stakes series, any Mersenneary, HokieGreg or xSCWx standard video (if any of them are moving too fast for you just skip them for now and come back later) from the last 2 years, ph33rox and coffeeyay videos.

Waldie's Thinking Like a Winner introductory series is also really good for beginners. Look through Fydor and Cog Dissonance videos for some of the well recommended ones targeting low to mid stakes.

PHMERC's 3bet video has been popular, if you like that look through his videos there's at least a few more that were quite popular that would fit a newer player.

That should get you started, let me know if you need any other recommendations.

^ Thanks.

Heads Up SNG From Scratch is an excellent beginners series, it tiers up from beginner to intermediate to advanced.

Realistically, as a beginner you should just watch them all though, they are older, but they are solid fundamentals that largely do not go "out of date" kind of like a layup or free throw in basketball, the game changes over time but many parts of the game cannot change without a massive rule/structure change).

So the only option to pay for membership / buy a video pack is through paypal ? Cause I changed my credit card and it takes approx. 15 days to verify my cc. with paypal.

Hi Vexx,

We offer Paypal, but we also offer credit card and debit card. The CC and Debit is through paypal, but you do NOT need a paypal account. Simply checkout as usual on our site, and when it takes you to paypal you'll see a screen like this:

Simply select the pay by credit card without a paypal account option there and checkout.

We also offer moneybookers: http://www.husng.com/content/moneybo...payment-option

@Ryan: I stumbled across the following site of a reseller:

http://bestpokercoaching.com/shop/pr...-poker-course/

Most of those videos listed (like 30 out of 33) and about 350 more are available for download to standard members at HUSNG.com for just 25$. So why pay 97 Euros (= 123$) there?

HUSNG.com premium membership is 120$ for one month and allows to watch / download over 700 videos including that 33.

This just doesn't seem right to me.
