Loved the kapito vids, but I think that is basically because we have the same approach to the game. I though the mjw video was weird, but then again, we play very different styles. I wish he would've explained his bet-sizing better.

One glaring difference between the two was the kapito says bet the bottom pair, while mjw checks it off. Kapito explains why he does, where mjw doesn't explain why he doesn't, if he even thought about betting like that at all.

Anyways, for the price I am currently paying (nothing!), I think the videos are pretty good. Didn't really learn anything that would take my game to a better ROI I don't think, but that is unfair to say since I am only looking at the free stuff. I'll probably drop a month's investment after I move to the 30s or something. But, to be honest, I'll probably wait 'til the 50s and opt for direct coaching instead of the videos.

I think I have the cog vs some 22 reg video, and I haven't looked at it yet. I'm going to look at it now.

Thanks. Keep in mind you can check out the standard membership for only $25 (or many free options such as signing up for rakeback on a new site and raking as little as $100 during any month). There are something like 200-250 videos in that section, and while I do think our free videos are solid, you won't find me taking an incredible video from a coach and putting it out for free. I'm probably rather promotion deficient, but your gain and my loss.

Definitely post hands here and on HUSNG's HH review forum in that case. You should get plenty of good advice and discussion in both places to help guide you until you're ready to become a member.

No emails yet, tried using 7zip, got a similar error (this file is broken).

I've never seen this error, but it looks like the same thing as on http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic49927.html . I would try some of their solutions, ala using ALzip or updating Winrar and see if that helps.

On a side note, just got a standard membership and watched first vid by mjw006, awesome analysis, keep it up.

Just downloaded ALzip, can't find how to update winrar, might have to just download the newer version.

Anyway, will reply in a few minutes on whether this has worked so you can work out the expansion dates Ryan.

Well, I have been watching the odd video, no problems. Decide to dl and watch one of Cog's vids, dl is good, go to extract on winrar, I get that stupid error message again. Decide meh, it happened, was fixed by using AlZip last time, we'll do that again.

Strange, clearly files are getting corrupted somehow. Probably on your end since no one else form husng is experiencing the problem.
I would try:
1. Download using a different browser/re-install chrome
2. Make sure you have enough space/memory when downloading file
3. Run "chkdsk /f" in command prompt on whatever volume your download (shouldn't cause any errors, but I would do a system backup before running this just in case) (follow instructions in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265 for help)
4. Download something like seatools to a cd, boot to it, and run an advanced check on your primary hard-drive

Re-downloading and checking if you can unzip after 1/2/3

But that's all just guessing, perhaps someone who has experienced a similar error on windows can chime in.

I would also maybe make a thread about this in computer tech help portion of this forum.

Do you have any knowledge of this or how it will affect players who signed up for Carbon rakeback through HUSNG.COM?

I wrote a blog about it earlier when it broke. A source close to them told me that it was unlikely existing rakeback accounts will lose their rakeback.

While that article doesn't make it sound good, it looks terrible. For example, with two sites that control 80%+ of the US market gone, it doesn't make sense to continue to offer as good of a deal to new users after a certain period of time, you have less competition and players have less options, that doesn't usually equal better deals long term (though in this short term it sure seems like it is offering better deals).

That said, if they don't honor existing rakeback deals, then I think that would be a pretty bad start for them after receiving so many new players. A large part of the appeal is that the 35% deal and other rewards are top notch in the poker world (that and very soft games were the pre black friday appeal).

Looking once more at that article, they then draw the conclusion that players will now flock to Bodog, a room that got rid of their rakeback and decried it as terrible, etc. before. I would almost go as far to guess that the site has some sort of a Bodog signup deal, given their negative rakeback rhetoric. I guess nobody on that site played at FTP for the last 5 years? Or Carbon the last few, or Cake... you'd really do your players a disservice by having helped them get deals there over the years!

In any case, we'll keep an eye on this situation and relay any news as we receive it. Hopefully what I was told is true and prior rakeback players are likely to be grandfathered in.
