Lot of bad river cards, and no idea where we're at. I would check for pot control here and bet most any river for value if checked to (expecting stationy villain to call most of the time with any piece).

Checking turn is pretty bad in my opinion. He doesn't fold a whole lot to c-bets so he probably has some floats/backdoors in his range that has decent equity against you AND easily can be turned into a bluff on a lot of rivers because your range looks so weak when you check (and without reads it's really hard for you to call a lot of rivers). You don't mind folding out 3x and 5x as you're not going to get much value from the on the river. If he calls you have an easy check on the river and you're at the same time less likely to face a bluff from floats/draws as your range looks a lot stronger.

You would expect missed draws that held on for 2 streets to just give up on a wet river?

You have more chance to get value from 3x 5x on the river than on the turn. Station will call any sd value ptr. Not saying that betting turn is bad though, it is good to get value from all possible draws. Both actions have some merit.

Bet about 140 OTT for thin value, check back most rivers.
