turbo - rivered straight no good? turbo - rivered straight no good?

Reads: player seems standard so far, seems to have a pretty good idea where he is at in the few hands we played, checking back showdown value in good spots. He may have made a few small bluffs in position on scary turns and tried to barrel me off on an A72 board with nothing when I had 7x.

I'd call. We lose to KJ and a flush only. KJ would probably be a raise on the flop and call on the river. Tend to believe he bets out a rivered flush instead of going for the c/r on such a connected board.

Basically the only hands that make sense here are KJ and backdoor flush. Very rarely do you see fish overplaying their 2 pair type of hand on these kind of boards. Also our river barrel sizing looks way too big to indicate that the C/R has any fold equity.

If you believe your villain does that then yes, it's a call, but I don't think it's the case.

OP- What range of hands were you expecting villain to call the 340 river bet with?

I think we are very rarely getting called here by worse hands. I would bet the river smaller something like 220 to allow for some more perceived fold equity hoping to entice villain into shoving.

As played it sucks big time but we have to call. I think there are enough times where he has Jx and is trying to get you off the straight to justify a call. Plus the odd crazy bluff or 2!

650 to win 2300 or something.

So you have to be right like 1/6 or something times. Id call and not really overthink it

Well, thing is it's gonna be a chop in some cases and we don't win 2300.

betsizing too small on flop, gonna get called/get it in with many worse hands on this flop.

river sizing too big. What's in his range that you're getting value from? Tx?9x? 2pair? This sizing is too big to allow much to call.

    Fold river as played

Hero made a correct river fold.

River bet should be smaller IMO, maybe 210 or so. Unless he is a known reg I dont think we should be worried about most Villains turning showdown value into bluff and check raising worse hands.
