TPMK on draw heavy board gets raised on the turn, line check? TPMK on draw heavy board gets raised on the turn, line check?

5th hands in, no special reads thus far. I couldn't really fold on the turn given the sweet odds (oesd + 3rd nfd), plus I have some kind of blocker, but couldn't see anything but flatting and see the river.

Any improvements on each street?

You might be drawing dead on the turn, I'm not sure if you have enough equity to call that raise.

edit: didn't see villain checked behind flop, weird. I have to think some more about this.

Allright, I gave it some thought.

If villain checks behind showdownpotential (which I suppose is the case, why else would he check behind) his raising range for the turn is probably 9T and maybe some cobos of 93.

A very small % of villains might check behind JJ or some other set I suppose and raise the turn because it's getting very drawy.

I don't really know which other ranges to give villain, so I guess it was played fine. Either way: villain's rpeping very thin, but I don't see air or draws he could to this with. Unless he checked behind the ace of diamonds and decided his showdownpotential didn't suffice.

So the turn b/c wasn't that bad after all, I suppose?

Btw skaplun, did you happen to have 98 or KQ on that hand? If I may ask, that is?

villain's range on turn is (from likely to less likely)
KQ
Q8
87
(semi-)bluffs
T3
TT

everytime i call river unimproved it dazzles me how they check back a gutter on flop

edit: rearranged things a bit on bottom

Spamz, I just re-thought about the range you suggested (which seems to me quite reasonable) and it occurred to me that my call on the turn might be an example of reversed implied odds, since I can hit something on the river and still lose a huge pot: for example 8 would give me a lower straight in case he has a higher one, etc. This may depend on the probability he's (semi-) bluffing with, but I don't think this board is a good one to cold stone bluff anyway.

But well, I'm a noob usually grinding at $11 and $22s and kinda find it hard to fold to that smallish raise. All in all, do you think the line I've taken is fine? I mean, I know my river fold is standard, but in retrospect there prolly weren't that many cards that I can happily bet/call the river with.
