30$ hyper, bluff turn? 30$ hyper, bluff turn?

Opponent is a strong 60$ and 100$ hyper regular, coach on husng.com. He perceives me probably as weak 30$ reg (what i probably am )

We had an aggressive flop raise dynamic going on, but did not go out of line too much after all. After he c-bets 80% this is a standard flop raise, but how would you proceed on turn?

Vs regfish or fish i would give up, but is there merit in betting vs a good reg?

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $20(BB) Replayer
Hero ($475)
($525)

Dealt to Hero J 8

raises to $40, Hero calls $20

FLOP ($80) Q 9 5

Hero checks, bets $35, Hero raises to $90, calls $55

TURN ($260) Q 9 5 9

What hand that called on the flop is folding on the turn after it pairs the board? You're repping a very narrow value range and will get a lot of calls from Qx and medium pairs+

Given the "aggro dynamic" and the fact that the doesn't worse card to bluff came it's certainly a c/f. Even with a clean image it's a pretty bad card to barrel, we don't have to justify a c/r bluff by barrelling every single turn just because we have no showdown value and we try to rep. strength.

I think there is some merit to the idea because I believe he should have some hands in his range that could fold to a bet of the right amount. As mentioned before though we are representing a very narror range with a value bet and I think he's probably going to call with any made hand and he could shove over us with a hand like JT. I would CF, but if I was going to bet I'd shove to fold out hands like A highs, JT and KTs

^ Don't think a good villain is shoving JT on this turn card. Especially as you mentioned we would be representing a very tight, "like a 12-year-old pussy", range.

I'd probably bluff the pairing mid pair like 1 out of 1k hands. Ask your heart. If it says it's this time, click it, close your eyes and follow your destiny.

The spot is in the best case close to break even ev if he folds 5x and some gutshorts. So c/f seems the best option here for me, if we assume villain plays Qx and 9x that way.

I prefer t80 a t90.
Enough overcards in SB range. Folding those out sounds great. He cannot call as he has no odds. He only has to fold around 25% while he is likely to call again as he will think 'polo to some degree' giving infinite odds to improve to you at river.

However, if you rarely have 9x in your range while he has tons of Qx+ and 9x in his & you are not prone to firing again & you are more likely to call a turn raise and barrel instead of river-raise; chances are also there he will instead raise to enable including tons of overcards instead of folding those while getting more value out of you.

If you rep on turn most Q, then it could possibly be continued, but I suppose tough player think that you're not going to jam river with Q, so he will call turn with whatever he had and it probably will be a bit -ev, but he will get value from your air jams on the river.
