Pretty sure this was the 1st flop check-raise by me vs him, so not much of a reason for him to 3b bluff the flop or you still see people buttonclick enough on flop with no history? On the river I cant see a valuebet in our shoes, since I guess we only get value from K 8, which doesnt necessarily even want to stack off on the flop. And now we are getting insane odds on the river with a feeling that villain cant really have all that many bluffs and makes perfect sense for him to check behind the scariest turncard with all his 9 9-A A

Think you can use better hands to c/r with. As blocks FDs you can get it AI with, you block combos of 8x with worse kickers and when you get 3b you aren't too sure whether to stack off. Better hands would be 44,22, 99+, 42, A3ss, 35 etc. Think it works better overall to keep A8 in your ch/call range.

What was your turn plan? Check call?

River is dicey because I'd want to be higher in my range here, i.e 99+, flushes. I'd fold.

You shouldnt have overpairs in your range, 3b them pre.

Oops, of course we don't have 99 in our range. Still, I think I only wanna raise this flop if I'm looking to stack off (which can be fine depending on villain) or we get in really tough spots like this river!

I dont really know that much about deep play but this is like 37bb deep, this hand should be good enough to check/raise and jam flop
