What range of hands do you think are good to 3-bet OOP versus the average opponent?

Someone once told me that it is a mistake not to 3-bet KQo. How do they know this if they are right?

take a look at icimizer and u can figure this question out for urself. Many times it is okay to flat with kqo, infact I do as standard

I wouldn't 3bet KQo 25bb deep in a hyper, just sucks balls when you get jammed on. I would almost certainly 3bet it first hand of a Turbo though 75bb deep. To many variables to just say you should either 3bet of flat KQ.

Like all spots in poker, it's situationally adjusted.

Reg speed, T, ST?
Stack sizes?
Is villain a calling station or weak-tight?
What's his 4bet frequency at diff stack sizes?
Does he either fold or 4bet to a 3bet?
Does he flat often?
Etc. Etc.

I've played at micro stakes HU SNGs. I was referring to stacks at 75ish BB.

My 3-bet range is 88+, ATs+, AKo, and suited broadways

The above is what I do as standard. The truth is. I rarely ever experience 4-bets unless it is a premium hand. In fact, I don't really 3-bet bluff unless my opponent shows evidence of being able to fold to it. I play $3 HU SNGs and lower so maybe that is why.

Most of the time I just like to call and see a flop cheaply while OOP. Maybe this is a mistake, but I don't like bloating the pot preflop while OOP with a mediocre holding. That's what I want my opponents to do.

So far it has been working quite well for me. When I eventually get to tougher opponents I want to be prepared.

I would say that your 3bet range would be solid against an opponent who is raising his button 80%+. Problem is, at low stakes you'll find villains who limp or fold 60% and raise 40%, in which case your 3bet range would be too wide.

If your 3betting a nonpolarized range (the top x% of your hands as you described) against an active player, I don't see a problem with 3betting KQ. If you're 3betting a polarized range (the top x% of hands and bottom x% of hands -- done against a player who either folds or 4bets (DUCY?)) then KQ would not be included.
