Villain calls 3rd/4th button raise (all raises are min raises except this hand)
calls 42o on a flop of 855ss
donkleads on a 277dd flop for half pot, hero folds

The old me would automatically think, oh he didn't fold, I give up, he has to have an ace on this dry flop I don't care who my opponent is. I think I play too tight with this way of thinking and looking for spots to broaden my double barrels.

OTF I think he can maybe call any 2 here on the flop and preflop given my reads.
OTT his range is weak and I got a gutshot and probably 2 decent pair outs so I think it's a good spot for the double barrel...?

It's not for value, not too many hands I imagine he calls here. My bet was initially for information but also for information too see if he gives up his assumed weak range in later streets. I'm assuming he's calling still extremely wide on this AHigh dry flop. Then when the Kx comes, I assume it's a scare card for his lower pairs that might fold (still drawing live to those) but probably folding all air by now and I only really get value from 54 and 53 and some naked FD's. Either way if he calls I can see river for free most of the time which is great information I can totally exploit. So it's a semi-bluff bet for information.
