This time it's suited though

Villain is a regular on this stakes, competent and aggressive.
How do you play vs an aggressive villain like this one?
I felt like he would 4bet big aces preflop almost always. So that's at least some combos of Ad we can discount. When he shoves river he is only repping Ad i double he would do that with any other flush, maybe Kd.
His calling range is pretty A heavy on the flop but he obviously has many more combos of other suits so i guess the question is how often he bluffs these, right?
What calling range do you assign for this villain on this flop?

Don't see good reason for 3betting this pre. Pretty sure this plays better as a flat than 3bet.
Why check turn?B/F seems better. He never bets the pairs he has and I doubt he has sets , so you are basicly isolating yourself against better hands+bluffs(depends on player) by taking this line. And if he checks there are many hands that gets free card and can improve.
I would fold river as played. He might have bluffs here, but it doesnt matter anyway. Your check/folding range here is huge.

I dont hate the 3bet pre if, as you say, he is super aggro and competent.
To disagree with pa3pyxa1 I would say that checking the turn may be a good idea here. Checking makes it look like you bluffed the flop and are now giving up on the hand, hopng that a competent player will see this and bet accordingly. But, if you do this you HAVE to raise here. There are a few too many ugly cards that could come otr, and any diamond is one of them.
As played its def a fold. There are too many made hands here, and even if he thinks that he is bluffing with a low diamond, he is still beating you.
Hate to be a scumbag but... results?

I dont know if Check/GII is better than B/F. I mean if you think he is bluffy you can just bet/call and still be all in.
If you check here, you just got your st8 and you don't get value from anything. I think he has something on the start of the turn a lot of the time. His pairs never bet, he might check his overs+fd also. Many of these call the turn as well, but probably won't call many rivers if turn is x/x. A lot of value is missed by checking.

It's natural to be somewhat results-oriented, but just by the way you posted this it was obvious that you owned your opponent. My suggestion is to think of every possible outcomes if you check the turn vs if you bet yourself, instead of justifying the call post-hoc.

The hand has merits but it won't be +ev long-term. You will see a lot of thiner value bets than you expect.

I prefer to bet/call the turn and as played check-fold the river.

If you were willing to call an all in on the river even with a 4th diamond on the board why not check/raise all in on the turn? As played it seems like you gave him control of the betting and he could easily be beating you with a diamond draw that he's likely not to bet the river with if he misses. As played your two lines are either c/gii turn or bet turn and fold river and I actually think betting the turn seems a bit better here.
