His line looks like a 7 who would've folded to a double barrel the size of the pot, but I'm not an expert, by far.

I'll personally go and assume he MAY have trips (a set would be really weird, why would he not raise the flop to prevent you from drawing to a straight ?), and calling preflop with 85o is uber spewy.

I'd personally call here. 79 is POSSIBLE, and I'd personally call and puke when he shows a FH/nuts straight.

PS : why not flat call the river ? Why raise if you don't think anything worse will call you, and if you're afraid of getting jammed on ? As played, I'd call, but don't forget one thing : people like me are the reason the games are still alive.

What did you put him on when you raised on the river? Were you planning to fold to a raise or call it? I'll stick with those initial thoughts.

To me, it seems that the only full houses that matche his line are 85 and 88 (a pair + gutshot on the flop). I'm not too happy with the call but am calling here anyway, expecting for a chop and sometimes a trip (sometimes a boat of course).

Personally I'd just flat this river though, not because your hand is often way behind (no, this will be a chop pretty often), but because 3bet from him puts you in a ugly spot like this. The river brings 4-straight on the board, your hand is basically face up after that raise on the river, and he can easily 1) make a move or 2) milk the maximum value with a better hand.

Saying flat the river is really results oriented IMO. I think we can definitely be called by worse against the vast majority of players

Call the river shove IMO. This hands reeks of 7x. Maybe we could fold if there was nothing in the pot because we're basically never ahead, but given teh pot odds and the likelihood of a chop, it looks like a call.

Any reads??

Might be a call. Congrats to him if he has 79 or the house but often its a split. Imo thing's been said

You'd be surprised howmany times villain has 97 here. I think it's close to 90%

Unless villian is completely spazzing out the best you can hope for here is a split. I either flat call river or raise/fold to about 250 or so but only if villian has shown a tendency to call light.

With you checking on the turn (imo is a dble barrel situation), I think flatting the river is best. As borderline said there is a ton in villians range to just flat you with on the flop. Although I doubt 88, but the rest is plausible
