Hope this isn't too basic, I am right to check back this flop? I would expect to get 3bet here a lot with hands that have a ton of equity.

I like it on this middling type of flop deep, especially at low stakes when you can assume you have an edge.

Villain can conceivably have pairs + straightdraws, 2pairs or 66 - 99 that want to c/raise early on. However I think the most straightforward play is to bet/3bet jam. If villain doesn't c/raise, then you need a plan for turns that completely miss, Aces that peel and cards that pair.

Against a liberal c/raise range you'll be between 40 - 45% to win. I like playing draws aggressive, but I think you played this fine.

I'd rather fist my own nan's arsehole than check this back.

I strongly disagree with checking on this flop, if he check-raises a reasonable amount I'd call it.
