Hey guys,

I've watched quite a lot of husng videos which I found out to be extremely valuable (especially mersenneary, cofeeyay). <75bb the standart is to open 2x and depper than that they just make it 3x. But I think I've never seen them 2,5x'ing in between. So why is that? Why 2,5x'ing isn't optimal?

What do you think?

Raising 3x:

Villan must pay 3 blinds if he want's to stay in hand.Raising 3x give him odds 3:1 to improve hand.

Now raising 2.5x:
He can call pre flop wider because you give him better odds to call.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Conclusion:You should 3x,because that is one edge.If villan like to call to much pre flop he loose because odds are bad for him.And normal players(regulars) are forced to play tight, and you pick up blinds few times, there are edge.
On micro's I found milion player's who just min-raising,for me that is terrible.

It shouldn't really have a huge impact on your winrate if you start by 3xing , 2,5xing or 2xing between 75 down to 40 bb against a random player. The one who starts with 3xing says I want to play big pots against the average bad player. The other one wants to play more pots in position against these players and give them the chance to do so. Both sides have advantages as well as disadvantages.

I think it's very villain dependent. I've come across many players that will call minraises wider OOP than they would call 3x's. Some players adjust; some don't.

I think it's a leak to have a set mindset about these things, though. Just my opinion.

Tbh prob the max exploit route at lower stakes readless is limping a few hands and 3xing some others- switching up to minraising if villain 3bets a lot or it gets to late game. This is what I've found when experimenting for fun <30s. Some guys you would even max ev by limping atc.

however the trouble with limping is that your matches last longer- so you would have a lower hourly. You should never do something always in poker anyway, and Tobayy is thinking about it with the right approach. Also if you want to move up, the small ball limping strategy doesn't do as well vs people who play decent postflop in a limped pot (which btw is a huge population leak).
