Is a random player x/r - calling enough weaker 8x and pair+draw type of hands to shove here? Or is it better to flat? If I call there will be 360 behind, with a pot of 280. I don't really like flatting, as I lack any backdoor equity.

PokerStars - 10/20 NL (2 max) - Holdem - 2 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

Hero (SB): 25 BB
BB: 25 BB (VPIP: 68.42, PFR: 29.41, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 38)

Hero posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has A 8

Hero calls 0.5 BB, BB checks

Flop: (2 BB, 2 players) 5 8 6
BB checks, Hero bets 2 BB, BB raises to 6 BB, [color=red]Hero ?

Seems like a pretty tough spot.

In a minraised pot I'd be happy getting this in when BB has more hands like 98-K8, and lacks combos like 74o. The stack to pot-ratio is also bigger in limped, which devalues pair type hands on a wet board.

I think with any kind of reads of passive/straight forward reads I would just fold the flop. Villains tend to have a really strong check-raise range facing a full pot bet.

Readless I'm kinda torn between just folding flop or flatting and getting it in on blank turns. GTO seems to flat the raise, fold wet turns and get it in on blank turns, but the population probably doesn't bluff as much on the flop.

If you are willing to get it in on blank turns, then I don't see the lack of backdoor equity is not a problem with flatting. You can call here to see the turn, as a safe turn will increase your equity against his draw type hands.

Good points, although I wouldn't put too much wheight on the cbet size. It's 40 into 40, at the beginning of the match, so it doesn't look as strong as e.g. an 80 into 80 bet later in the match after using 1/2 pot size before. That's why I certainly wouldn't consider folding, even vs a more passive straight forward player.
