Re: 11$ Turbo AK river ch/r

I think you are beaten here 100% of the time.

I am also learning to play HUSNG on 11$ turbos atm and the thing I learned is that people just don't check-raise you on the river OOP without a hand.

So two pair, set, str8, backdoor flush... Anything is possible tbh...

I might be wrong (still consider myself as a newbie, regardless of several years as a poker player), but imho the biggest mistake that you can make here is:
- ah, I'm probaby beaten, but I can't fold this
(opponent shows a hand)
- here, I knew it, i shouldn't have... next time I wont do it...

Am I right or completely wrong?

I'd bet more OTT.

I also don't make <1/2 pot bets readless vs fish unless i'm bet/calling

I'd be bet/eval'ing like 310

i assume 60 is your standard sizing, but since he haven't seen us cbet yet i'd make it 80 here and then switch to 60 after the hand.

turn: you could go slightly bigger here but 140 looks fine to me.

River: given we have 3 barreled we are looking strong, so for him to actually raise us here looks super strong so unless you think he can turn Ax into a bluff here i'm folding here. i don't mind betting here to get value from Ax and maybe 9x since that is a big part of his range imo

is there any reason u posted that?

i bet as much i bet because that's my way of value betting what i assume to be the nuts both on flop+turn (Nuts for this situation, not the general nuts)
on the river however there was this surprise,

so given this situation on the river a fold is not too nitty right?

if you're value-betting a generic size with the nuts, or even a "balanced" size so that villain won't exploit you then you're doing it wrong. Think about the types of hands he's going to have here and what he's going to do with them vs varying bet sizes.

Is he really gonna fold stuff to 165 that he calls for 140? I think his range doesn't change very much for calling turn if we bet a little bigger, and the small part we cut out is more than made up by the extra value from his calling range.

ofc it's not nitty fold at all imo, this will be good fold most of the time for sure.

I like thin valuebet river to extract max value but when I'm doing it I'm always ready to bet/fold against most of the villains, cause it's very rarely a bluff from their side. So don't be surprised when u get raised.
Always think from which hands we are trying to extract value. If u d villain how often d u call that river with mid pair hands?
When opponent limps hands like K9 and plays it SF we don't have to think that he is capable of bluffing these river spots. Hands like 76s or 9xdd, 8xdd in villains range makes sense.

^^ thats similar to what i was thinking,i dont got a problem with folding, cause i know that thin value=may cause not thin problems,i just was worried it might be quite nitty.

thx for ur input everyone
